Patrons Beware Your credit card tips may not be going where you think they are...
I'll give you a hint: If it looks like wage theft, and sounds like wage theft, then it's probably?

Let's face it, this is the Era of tip requests, where everywhere but fast food will ask you for 5-20% I worked service industry back in the day, I get it. I've tipped $5 multiple times here picking up food.
Look at the store receipt, it even has boxes prefilled for gratuity options up above the total line.
Recently I've started asking if employees will get my credit card tips after their shift before I tip at places.
Teriyaki Sushi staff reply: "We get the cash tips in the jar, but no we don't get the credit card tips people leave... Those are.. something else...we only see cash"
Since the owner already has a processing fee on credit card purchases, taking the rest of the tip is by definition wage theft:
"Keeping credit card tips from an employee, beyond a minimal deduction for the credit card processing fee, is generally considered wage theft under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) as employers are not allowed to keep tips left by customers on credit cards, and must pay the full amount to the employee, with only a permissible deduction for the actual credit card processing costs.

Have you had a moment thinking what the f- did I just eat? Or what is this? I am afraid that there is no real fish in Spicy tuna - is that real tuna? Why is it sweet?....I agree about the bitter and old oil taste in the teriyaki. What haunts me the most about the mayo sauce on top of the teriyaki; why?
My suggestion: stop putting mayo on everything, and don’t sell sushi. You can sell fried rice instead; use the real soy sauce and chicken powder.
I met Latino who had made the best-fried rice and noodle stir fry before. You already have the technique, and you just need the proper seasoning and ingredients.
Thank you for your hard work. You can do better....

Especially from a rather dumpy strip mall. Nonetheless I ordered a spicy tuna roll, a BBQ eel roll and an order of chicken teriyaki, extra meat per suggestions on other reviews. The rolls we, well just OK. The spicy tuna was indeed spicy! The eel was pretty average. The chicken teriyaki was probably the best part. Not too sweet or salty. And it was enough for at least two meals. My daughter and I split the order and still have a bit more leftover. Sometimes this type of chicken can be grizzly at the mall, but the meat seemed good and even juicy. Also as others have indicated, I personally would prefer the chicken to have a bit more char. Overall good prices for decent food, and plenty of it. I am defiantly willing to give this place another...
