I ordered a cake and cupcakes for my moms birthday party I was hosting a week ago. Today was her party. My family has been going to this bakery for years so I figured I would continue to order from here. Unfortunately when I arrived today my cake was not ready and my cupcakes "needed to be found". The gentleman told me he couldn't find them so they were going to make them and it would take about 15 minutes. With that being said I left with the cake so that I could try to decorate my mother's home and at this point it was already 1045ish and my cake was supposed to be done at 10am, the party started at 12 and I still had to pick up the food for the party that was going to be ready for pick up at 1145. So when I got to my moms and opened the cake 2 roses at the top had literally slid off the cake almost like whoever made the cake didn't let the cake cool...or something but I had to carefully put them back on. Next I go back to Dutch kitchen to pick up my cupcakes and they present to me cupcakes that were entirely not what I asked them to make. I asked for pink posting and white "60"'s on them and they tried to give me white frosting cupcakes with black "60"s. On top of this...I literally sent them a picture of the cake and cupcakes I wanted and I didn't receive a phone call on if it was or was not possible for them to do. Basically my entire time where I was supposed to be prepping for my guests to arrive I was stuck waiting for my cake and cupcakes that I ordered a week ago. The manager was very apologetic. The manager also gave me a full refund. He was very sweet and I feel he did care and wanted to resolve the issue the best he could . It was just an awful experience. The cake tasted delicious but when I was cutting it it was...
Read moreI had a craving for sweets and subsequently spent $61 dollars here. Very expensive craving. The absolute best thing in my purchase were the bismarcks. Delicious! As for The Gourmet cupcakes, the chocolate cupcake was not good at all. It was very dry and the flavor was not good. Not the chocolate flavor you would expect from an expensive cupcake. Didn't like the syrupy stuff in the middle either. Very cheaply made, imo. The other cupcake was delicious. It was, i think a fluffernutter cupcake. Peanut butter and marshmallow. And then there were the cannolis. The filling wasn't quite right, and after refrigeration the shell was very soft and not at all good. And in a matter of one day filling was hinting at sourness. And not sure about prices individually, because the prices are not posted. Maybe they were normal but I had sticker shock when they rang it up and it was $61. But I did get, two bismarcks, 4 cannolis, and 4 cupcakes. Oh, and a slice of cheesecake. Wanted to have my last hurrah before heart surgery and...
Read moreDutch Kitchen is the ONLY place my family will order cakes from. I am really as close to a #1 fan as you can get! I love when people haven't tried you cake so I can be the one to introduce them!
I am also aware that the shop is being run by new owners so I did expect that there might be some minor changes. I went to get a cake today for a friend and they were all out of golden cakes in the front cooler. I asked if there were anymore and the woman told me no, that was all they had. Okay. I settled for a marble cake that had no price listed. The cake was full of craters on top bc it was apparently being dripped on by a water leak in the cooler. One of the balloons was completely smudged bc of the 'water damage'.
I was crushed to say the least. I did however, notice that there were new cash registers and a flat screen tv installed. And that is great! Just don't forget about the most important piece...the quality of your products i.,e., the food :( Hoping that this was a one...
