Olympian Grill — Restaurant in Five Forks

If I wrote this review six months ago, it would easily be 5 stars. This is a nice restaurant. I assume it is family owned. They have nice staff. There is plenty of space. The Greek/Italian menu has plenty to offer at a reasonable price. Whenever I have to take someone out to dinner, this is a sure choice. My last two visits have not been so nice. It is only the food that has become a problem. The first time, I thought it might be because I ordered something I hadn't had before, so I just ordered something I don't like. However, nobody liked their food. The second time, I purposely ordered one of my favorite items on the menu: blackened steak with blue cheese salad. It is a Greek salad topped with steak, carmelized onions, and bleu cheese crumbles. What I received was a plate of lettuce with a cherry tomato cut in half. It was topped with a small half-steak cut in strips and a few bleu cheese crumbles. That is all. The Greek salad had no cucumbers or olives. The onions were gone. I realized that while the menu is the same, the food is not. I haven't decided if I will return or not. I want it to be like it used to be when it a 5-star restaurant. The food was awesome but our server,Wanda N, seamed annoyed to have to wait on us. She asked one check or two, we told her two checks. She took our order brought us our drinks, came back with some bread and later our food, and that was the last we saw of her. I had to flag down the hostess to get drink refills, still never saw her insight to try to flag her down for assistance, and had to ask another server to get us to go boxes. when the other server brought us our boxes she then came to the table and asked us if we needed to go boxes. Then she set down one check, she did not separate us, told her again it was two checks, she took check back and later brought us to checks however they were wrong, neither one had the right items on it, we took it up to the counter and we're told she would have to fix it. upon giving it to her she still had wrong items on it, took forever to get out of there. extremely disappointed with the service. I have never been to this restaurant before last week. But since it's so close to where we live I wanted to check it out.

My wife and I took her sister and husband along and they said that nothing has changed about the place in years.

I think a few things do need to change, the server who took care of us didn't know the menu very well so therefore she could not make recommendations. Of course there was a sign on the door that stated they were looking for employees oh, so maybe they're going through some kind of turnaround.

That aside the food was okay.

I was not impressed with the cocktails that I tried though they looked promising on the menu. It was a wide selection of crafted drinks. Unfortunately they weren't exactly what I was hoping they would be.

So why four stars, not three stars? Because as a small business owner myself, I understand that good help is indeed hard to find.
