Nice interior. Too many large tables; no two-tops. Looks like the owner spent a few bucks transforming the former chain fast food restaurant to a hip ag/industrial vibe bar & grill. The menu is interesting. However, when we ordered the quesadillas the waitress looked at us and said, âAre you sure? They arenât very good.â It was hard to come back from that one. So we asked what was good. She said the burgers were good. We had burgers yesterday and didnât want anything so heavy and said so. Loaded tots? She said, âOh, thatâs a lot of food. Youâll probably have to take some of that home.â At this point, as a former restaurant owner myself, I am thinking, âOMG - I would never want this woman working for me.â So, we ordered hot dogs and tots. We had a couple of beers. They were empty and the food hadnât arrived (hot dogs and tater tots, remember?). Waitress did not check on us so I went to the bar and asked for another round. The restaurant was not busy - only a few other patrons. Got the round. Waited, waited, waited. Food arrived. See pic. Honestly, the food was okay. I think what happened is the dogs got made and waited for the tots to get done. Buns were a little soggy and the dogs not quite hot enough. Not sure the cook had actually ever seen a real âChicago hotdogâ before. If so, it wasnât in the presentation. The tots were excellent. Summary: At best, mediocre service and passable food. Convenient location and reasonable prices. Will try the pace again. Today could have just...
Read moreItâs Super Bowl Sunday and plenty of room for a party of two. We seat ourselves at a table of six (many open tables). As we sit, look around and make eye contact with the two bartenders behind the bar, we turn our attention to the half time show. As that comes to an end, apx 10 minutes, I casually walk up to the bar and ask if there is a server & for a menu. One of the two bartenders, reluctantly drags her eyes away from the tv and say, âoh sure, hereâs a menu & processed to tell me that⌠weâre just mesmerized by the half time show & weâll be with you soonâ. Hmmm, ok. One of these two ladies was apparently a âworkerâ while she stood behold the bar drinking her bottle of Corona & serving customers. Btw, the most time she spent with anyone was two other young gentlemen on the other side of the bar. There was no service from these two behind the bar. If one wasnât outside smoking the other was drinking & fraternizing. Our server eventually approached our table, at some tender age of less than 21, as she told us, had no clue about the basic ingredients of a Bloody Mary nor at this late time of night the soup of the day. So, at this point we surrendered to knowing this experience would be limited and sadly it was. Itâs a beautiful establishment with significantly substandard staff. Very sad. We looked forward to going here for a long time. Well,...
Read moremy husband and I are from out of town and the rabbits foot was recommended by the hotel we were staying at. They did not disappoint! The bartender, Alex was the only one working and the place was pretty busy. Regardless of how busy they were, we were greeted very quickly. We asked for recommendations and she said that âanything with chicken is great.â Then gave specific examples of what she liked. We ended up going a different route but still took the chicken sandwich suggestion and LET ME TELL YOU!! The food was amazing! Whenever alex came to the table she was fun and upbeat and really made us feel welcome.
The only downside- Understandably, since most places are pretty short staffed it did take a bit to get our food, but we were already informed of this and decided to stay. I would absolutely go again if ever...
