2nd poor experience at Vince's yesterday. Unfortunately, this Rochelle landmark isn't what I remember growing up. I always loved coming to this restaurant bc the food was awesome and employees were friendly. I ordered a pizza a few months ago, the cheese was so salty and obviously not good quality. I knew I would never order pizza from Vince's again. I decided to try items that are not pizza yesterday bc my friend wanted to order some items from Vince's. I did order a meatball sub and a few appetizers to share. The meatball sub was subpar, once again too salty, the meatballs not made with quality ingredients and the bread was just a huge chunk of raw dough. Beer nuggets are literally tasteless pucks. I couldn't eat them and neither could any of my friends, they literally went directly in the garbage, Fried mushrooms are ok, not really worth what they're charging tho. I've seen bigger, better mushrooms at different establishments for less. One item that tasted good is the jalepeno poppers, the ranch they send with it is disgusting: thick and sweet, obviously something generic; not freshly made like most authentic pizzerias will do but the poppers themselves are good. I wanted to give Vince's 2 stars bc of the tasty poppers but I cannot bc of what I witnessed there. I saw what looked to be a manager or maybe an owner 50 something-ish, Bobbed blond haired lady treating the employees poorly. She was barking orders at everyone in sight but was really bearing down on the young lady who helped me who was doing a wonderful job and was being so sweet and apologetic to me even though she had nothing to be sorry for; I think the young lady was just frightened bc the "manager" looking lady had her panties in a bunch and was barking orders at her and using aggressive hand gestures AND told me right in front of the young lady, (regarding the young lady). . "tell me, not her, she doesn't know what she's doing." The "manager" lady was confused about a couple things regarding my order and my friends order. It was literally not a big deal at all. I wasn't upset. I was totally relaxed and enyoing my Sunday but she was totally frantic and taking it out on the young lady who was helping me. I feel sorry for the employees here, it seems like a miserable place to work. Thinking on it now I really wish i had stood up to this manager lady for bullying the sweet young lady who was helping me. I was in shock though, when I'm in shock I clam up, I just stare and can never seem to say anything. Vince's will not get another penny from me. Sad to see it, me and my family loved coming to Vince's back in the day; only...
Read moreGood Sauce & Delivery is fast along with Pizza being hot when we get it. Spaghetti dinner is also very good along with their Meatballs. This comes pretty close to the Pizza I would get in Chicago. Very far & few Restaurants have this quality when moving further West. I was born & raised in Chicago for well past 30+ yrs. I don't like all dough pizza's that have hardly any Sauce or Cheese. Like I mentioned, the quality is like having Pizza in Chicago. I've yet to try their Italian Beef Sandwich's. That's going to change when 4pm swings by. I've given this Restaurant 4 Stars only because no one is perfect.
New Updated Review as of July 25, 2024 [Post CV19 & Bad Economy] - "What Happened?" I've been ordering from Vinces for quite some time. Pizza used to be really really good. What happened?? Did you change cooks, owners, economy cause you to make short cuts..? Ordered a Pizza - Ch/Sausage/On/GrnPpr/Mushrm. Pizza was very very thin & not cooked all the way through. Doe was not cooked enough, the sauce didn't have a taste to it & was way too spicy. Before COVID & the Economy taking a dump on everyone, your Pizza "Was" like having Chicago Style Pizza. Now it tastes as though the Pizza was made, frozen & then ran through a conveyor with limited time to cook. I have been ordering Vinces Pizza since '15. Very very disappointed. Delivery was good even though the driver hiccuped a bit in having to call me up in finding my place of residence. However, I am truly not liking the pizza anymore.. Back to the drawing board in trying to find a restaurant that has Chicago Style Pizza - not the unflavored Sauce, pizza being too spicy that my family just had. No Basil, Oregano, Fennel Seed & not cooked enough.. truly sorry you...
Read moreI'm not sure how this place got rated so high. All I can say is my experience was disappointing. I grew up on Long Island so I can be pretty picky when it comes to getting a pizza or any Italian food for that matter. We were staying at the Comfort Inn and when I spotted this little home town pizzeria that has been in business for 50 years I figured I could count on getting exceptional food, unfortunately that wasn't the case. For starters I called to order the Vinces Special pizza. I asked the young lady on the phone if a could make one small change and substitute fresh garlic for the pepperoni. She said I couldn't substitute but she would leave off the pepperoni and charge me for an additional topping for the garlic. I thought this was kind of ridiculous but I asked if they could add extra sausage, which comes on the pizza, in place of the pepperoni, again she tells me she would have to charge me for an additional topping. So far this is not going well. Our food comes, beside the pizza, we also ordered a lasagna dinner. The pizza crust sucked, which can pretty much make or break a pizza. The crust was like cardboard and comparable to a frozen pizza you'd buy at the grocery store. On top of that the ROUND pizza was cut into 3" x 3" squares, who ever heard of cutting a round pizza into squares. The lasagna was mostly lasagne noodles swimming in red sauce with a bunch of cheese on top. The only saving grace was the meatball that came with the lasagna was pretty decent as well as the red sauce. For all this we had the pleasure of dropping a $40 Bill. We haven't eaten the cannoli's yet but I'm hoping we can at least get some enjoyment...
