The first thing that caught my eye was the entrance to The Museum Club. Now, I'm not sure but it sure does look like a very large Y shaped branch turned upsides down that makes the entrance and it's impressive!! Once you get inside you need to adjust your eyes a little bit cause it's not very brightly lit inside, which suits someone like me just fine. I'm in my early fifty's and personally like older establishments with a history and flare of their own and low lighting. I think what some might call a dive bar I call much cooler and comfortable than a loud, brightly lit, overly crowded dance club with a bunch of twenty-somethings that make me have fantasies about mass genocide!! JUST KIDDING,sort of....any how... inside the Museum Club you will find a pretty nice bald bartender ready to serve you a decent drink for a decent price. The bar itself is a piece of art. When you start to look around you will see many animals from around the area that were killed and stuffed and mounted long ago. Many of them need dusting but I don't think that the animals care. There's a old wood dance floor and a stage where there is karaoke on Thursday nights. It's an eclectic mix of people that you will see at the bar from college kids with half their head shaved the other half colored light purple, adorning many piercings to 80 year old grandma and grandpa doing the two-step on the dance floor to some old honky tonk music. There's also a pool table and a few arcade games and of course a dart board. Sometimes you will only find a few people there and other times you will find a good size crowd. Especially on Friday night which is sometimes ladies night with a live male reveiws show. Ladies are treated well by the establishment and men are expected to behave themselves. The bathrooms are clean and the overall atmosphere is very enjoyable and kickback. The Museum Club has a well-known reputation for being haunted and it does remind me of the haunted Mansion at Disneyland, but I think the spirit's that most people will find here are of the interesting clientele and the bottles of booze...
Read moreTERRIBLE SERVICE AND PIZZA!!!! The layout of this place is awesome and everything is pretty historical and neat but the service was so bad I wouldn't go back if they begged me. I waited at a booth for 30 minutes after I asked the bartender to send a waitress my way. After she finally approached me I asked for a menu and waited for another 35 minutes before she came back even though she was handing out drinks to everyone at the pool table which was 3 ft in front of me. This whole time she hasn't even asked what I wanted to drink so when I finally gave her my simple order of a signature pizza with no onions she disappears and eventually comes back with a pizza WITH onions and my closed tab when I haven't asked her to close my tab. The servers are rude and lack customer service skills, she didn't bother to ask how it was, greet me or look me in the eyes once, she was too busy flirting with the locals. I was so fed up with this place I didn't even bother asking for a refund. If your not a local than don't bother expecting a good experience. You would think this place is full of hospitality but you'd get a better welcome at...
Read moreMy fiance and I went to Museum Club on a Friday night, with a Spanish music band supposed to play from 9pm to 2am. We arrived at 9:30pm, and no music was playing. The advertisement showed a cover of $10-20.
We asked if there was still live music and they said yes, it should start before 10:30. We wanted to try it (first time). They said "it's $40 for men, $20 for women". Double the advertisement. They weren't budging, it was my last night in town, so we went ahead and paid, hoping for music within the hour.
The live music didn't start until 11:15PM. 2 hours 15 minutes after advertised. We wouldn't have paid the ridiculously high cover had we known we were going to have to wait an hour 45 minutes.
The music was pretty good. Atmosphere is what it is...nothing special by my standards. But we'll never try it again. Cover charge was ridiculous, wait was way too long compared...
