I was visiting my friend Janet and she recommended we try Blue Ruby (restaurant). In one word: Impressive.

The service was among the most friendly experiences I have had in North Carolina. One of the owners, the chef and waitresses all greeted us and spend time chatting with us about what we like/ don't like/ where we are from/ the restaurant, etc. Wonderful people who are certainly in the right business (hospitality).

The food- authentic flavors, outstanding presentation and perfect sized portions. I tried the Juan Valdez martini- this was about as good as it gets for dessert drinks, the perfect mix of coffee liqueur, cream and vanilla. The Lemon Garlic hummus was fantastic, the texture and flavors were remarkably fresh. My personal favorite- Green Curry Mussels. Having just returned from a trip to India two weeks before, I can say with 100% certainty that these mussels are every bit as good as the real deal in Hyderabad. The perfect mix of coconut milk with chili, lime and served with crostini, such a wonderful dinner.

The temperature, level of lighting, music and overall feel of the place is welcoming and comforting. Strongly recommend to anyone. If you do make a stop here- make sure to try the almost basket vanilla mouse dessert- truly special.

Never have I been treated so rude after expressing we were disappointed that our food was delivered to our table 10 min apart! The owner then called my brother a mean old man and then followed up by insisting we leave or they were goingto call the police ,, she then slammed the door in our face and followed us to the car and acted as she was was taking a picture of our license tag!,,,,! As she continued screaming at us to leave! My brother is in his late 80’s and a heart patient!! Where was all the explosive anger coming from!! ?? WOW!!!! Went for Mother’s Day with my wife and my son and was blown away! The breakfast sandwiches with Chorizo were amazing! We also purchased a plethora of various savory and sweet pastries that were the best specialty bakery items we’ve had since moving here a few years ago. For the quality and amount of food the prices were VERY reasonable! The service was outstanding and the fresh brewed coffee was great too! This is a great place to sit outside on a morning and enjoy fantastic food! I am looking forward to coming back for a Salad and Sandwich and will definitely be returning for a breakfast again too!
