My first experience here was not good. If I were to evaluate based on price, quantiy, quality, facility, staff (one star for each that was done satisfactorily) I would have to rate my visit as a 2.
Price: I ordered a wet burito carryout and drank a beer while I waited. For a single wet burito with no sides (no rice, no beans, no chips, etc) and a 16 oz draft beer, my tab came to $20.13. That is very expensive based on my experience at many similar establishments. I would have expected $5 or $6 for the beer and $7 or $8 for the unaccompanied wet burito. At the high end, that would have been $14, not $20. No star.
Quantity: Hand in hand with price, I would have expected more for the price I paid. The wet burito itself was fairly large, but without any sides either inside the burito (rice and beans) or outside the burito (rice and beans and maybe chips), the quantity did not reflect the price paid. No star.
Quality: This one is tough. The flavor could have been fairly good, the beef was tender, but it wasn't hot. It was warmer than luke warm, but not by much. Against my better judgement, I ate it anyway. It was a carryout, and I only live about 5 minutes away, so it shouldn't have cooled down that much. While it should have been hotter, I should have known better than to eat it anyway. The next morning, I was treated to no less than 4 somewhat urgent trips to the bathroom. In my mind, I'm conviced the two were related. No star.
Facility: Overall the facility was nice. It appeared clean and organized. One star.
Staff: The staff were present and pleasant. No problem there at all. One star.
Based on the numerous positive reviews, I may go back and try again, but it won't be soon. There are so many options when it comes to eating out, that I rarely go back after a bad experience; however, I'm hoping that this visit was the sum of some chance occurrences that stacked up to be a single negative experience in a sea of...
Read moreFood here is very good for the price. I especially like the French onion. Atmosphere is a little divey in the best ways, feels like an intimate friendly neighborhood spot (I'm talking about the bar side). Our poor waitress was handling the entire bar side and was running around so much she was spilling and not as attentive as I'd have liked. She brought ketchup for fries and I wanted to ask for mustard for my club sandwich (good job making a club with ham and turkey like it's supposed to! ) but before I could ask she was off to the next table and was hauling food and drinks to 5 other tables and never made it back to us until we were done. She asked if we wanted another drink but by that time we were done. If she'd have been less busy and checked up sooner, we would have. So I'd suggest getting double coverage on a Saturday night as a way to improve the experience. Note I'm still giving it 4 stars so understand that it's still very good and...
Read moreThe prime rib was great. The service was good as always but the cocktails really need some work. I ordered a Jack & Coke tall single. When I got the drink it had a really lite caramel color like it either was sitting to long or the syrup in the Coke wasn't mixed right. I drank it because stuff happens but when I was asked if I wanted another I made sure the waitress knew the Coke was off and not right and to please check the syrup before I get another. So I ordered a short Jack & Coke. When that one came out same deal really lite color. I was told that it was the carbonation that caused the color and tast. I drank that one also just because I'm not really picky but I just don't like being lied too. I was a bartender for many years. If the drink comes out looking wrong and you can't fix it. Don't sell it. Try and sell...
