The host was rude as we walked in to be seated. We were offered to sit inside (15 min wait, no biggie) or we could sit outside on the covered, heated deck immediately. Temp was 31 degrees and we elected to sit inside. Now, there was no one sitting on the deck as it was wide open for people. We were told to wait outside because the fire marshal will not allow us wait on the covered, heated deck, but we are allowed to sit and eat on the deck? This made no sense at all. We were not blocking the doorway for entrance or exit. There was no one sitting on the deck and no one else waiting in line to be seated. Plus the host said “the rules change every day so we don’t know what the rules are today”. This sounds like a managerial issue too.
We were being seated and they split our group up (only 6 people) and made us sit at different sections. We were told we couldn’t put two tables together. Mind you, there were several tables put together and there was plenty of room for other tables to be moved together.
The lady who checked us out when we were paying the bill had the worst customer service I’ve experienced in a long time. We were not the only ones she was rude with. I chalked it up to her having a bad day, but two days in a row made me think this is just her normal behavior.
There seems to be no accountability with staff and their actions towards people. My experience with this location has been terrible from customer service standpoint.
*Response to your response. First of all, thank you for your response. Offended???? Hardly, but I appreciate good customer service. Your rules are fine. Rules are rules and we ALL need to follow them just as we did that day. Just because we don’t agree with them doesn’t mean we can’t follow them.
You seem to have taken my review as a personal attack, so before you reply to this, if you reply, don’t take it personal. This is to show others what they might encounter when visiting your business. Reviews are not meant to hurt business, but if you’re a savvy business owner then you can see reviews as a way to improve your business or just keep it as is.
I hope your business continues to do well. I’m in no way slamming your business and I love having locally owned businesses in our community.
Now, as far as your insinuation of me not having experience around the food industry: I’ve had plenty of experience in the food industry and we’ve always tried to accommodate customers. I will agree that if we can’t do something for safety of employees or customers then we wouldn’t do it, but we at least explained this instead of just being rude. This will go a long way in life: it’s not what you say, it’s the way you say it.
Customer service is everything and just about each time we have visited your business, we have encountered good customer service except the location in Fletcher. Each time we’ve been to this location the customer service has been less than satisfactory. Especially when we are greeted with more than one person talking about how the rules change each day so they don’t know what to say or do.
Again, I hope you take this as positive feedback instead of a...
Read moreThe worst experience I think I’ve ever had at a restaurant. We came in after church at 12:15pm with our 3 kids and my mom. We hardly ever get a chance to go out. The wait was supposed to be 30 minutes. I watched as people that came in after us were seated. I mentioned how small my kids were and that we could and were willing to fit at a regular table. After noticing that 12 people’s names were crossed out behind ours, I asked for the manager who politely said that they are just trying to figure out a table. At this point over an hour had passed by. I said that this was not okay and really messed up to take all of those people ahead of us, instead of a few others after us and letting us know they are trying to work things out or even split us up, and at this point we wouldn’t be able to order off the breakfast menu since it’s now 1:30pm. She wasn’t even the slightest bit apologetic or agreeable. It’s not like I was asking to seat a group of 12. So, we waited and I heard one of the servers say after we those two, then we should be able to get them in. Nope, another 6 more patron’s buzzers went off. I then realized that they were waiting for most of the restaurant to clear out of their lunch time rush and then maybe they could get to us. I don’t understand how you treat customers like they don’t matter, or that 3 adults and 3 kids is asking too much. When I have to basically beg you to provide decent service to my family, I should have walked out then. How do you consciously allow 18 people to go ahead and take priority over of a party of 6 people who could have easily sat in a regular booth or sat at an outside table. Why not be upfront and tell us that we won’t be serve us until the restaurant is at least empty enough. Why on earth would I want to wait for everyone else to enjoy a meal with their families and my family would have to be last? Are we supposed to feel okay with that? As I left I asked the lady “do you see how many people you seated after us?” She didn’t even care, and said that they were busy. I honestly think they were grateful that we decided to leave, so they wouldn’t have to bother. I’ve never had felt so unvalued in any restaurant, and instead of making any attempt at an apology, she thanked us for leaving and said have a great day. Thanked us! What a relief to not have to move tables or add 2 chairs to a round table. I...
Read moreGreat place to eat in Fletcher, NC A very nice restaurant, reminiscent of an old-time diner. There is a large parking lot so parking should not be an issue. There is an outer porch with tables that you can sit at if you have a pet. There is a sign as you enter the porch that tells you to wait on the porch until the host/hostess comes out to seat you. We were greeted and seated quickly. The restaurant proper has a counter and booth lining the outer wall. There was a room with additional seating in the back of the building. We were seated at a booth near the front of the main room. The distance between the table and the seat was a little tight but the tables and the room was clean. The decor has plates displayed on shelves just below the ceiling and lots of knick-knacks. We visited near Halloween when all the waitresses had on orange shirts with various sayings like “Broom Trainer”. The waitress was efficient in taking our drink and food orders. We ordered two breakfasts of french toast and something very similar to an egg McMuffin. Both dishes came out quickly and were delicious. The cost was about $24 but was worth it for the friendly staff, delicious food, and good...
