Duck Donuts — Restaurant in Florence

Our family had an unforgettable experience at this shop this week. We left North Carolina on Sunday morning on our way to Orlando and had breakfast at here. The woman who seemed to be Mexican approached us very kindly and the man who seemed to be Mexican decorated the donuts very elegantly. And when we left the store, my daughter left her precious sneakers in the parking lot, and she had been sad for the next three days. Then when we stopped by this store on our way back to North Carolina on Friday afternoon, that Mexican man smiled kindly and handed us a pair of sneakers that he had carefully stored in his locker. My daughter and wife were moved to tears by their kindness. Great employees and freshly made donuts that we will never forget. It was the best memory we have experienced in the United States. I hope one day I will be able to eat Duck...

All in all, it was a pretty good experience. The donuts are fairly expensive, 2 1/2 dollars each or 20 for a dozen. They also are not that big. That being said, they had a nice little crunch from the fry on them and are about infinitely Customizable. They let you pick from preset toppings or make your own. That’s pretty cool.

We chose off the menu and got a half dozen different flavors. Of them, the blueberry streusel and map bacon were my two favorites. All of them were good though.

We were there during the soft open so I’m sure the process will continue to become more refined. The dining room was messy, but it was the end of the day and I’m certain that they were overrun with people. Anytime something new comes to Florence, it’s a mob scene for the...

You will love it.

We have been here twice and the kids love it. Kids love that they can build their donut and then watch it be created in front of them. When you walk in, you are greeted by the cashier with a welcome. Service times are not much of a factor when you are ordering specialized donuts... but I have noticed that when people order from the menu, their order is delivered relatively quick. Watching them make their specialized donut is somewhat of a thrill to children, pretty cool to me too, but I wish that the staff in the service area were more friendly, interactive with the guest, especially when they are kids. But overall a great place, the kids will love it, clean and welcoming, and it smells like heaven.
