I chose Mi Tierra based on recommendations on google. When My husband and I came in to celebrate our 9 year wedding anniversary, I informed the hostess I'd like a wonderful experience, and that I'd be willing to wait for the best server. After a brief wait, We were seated at a beautiful booth with very warm and inviting ambiance. We weren't greeted, however. We sat from 7:13-7:37 to be waited on. Turns out, the short guy that passed us numerous times to his two other tables was our server. We told him what we wanted with our chips, which were brought when our drinks were delivered,(after we had waited over 15 minutes already) and the dinner order was taken. We wanted white cheese, a golden margarita, or a classic, whichever they sell there and a corona. What I was given instead of a classic or golden was a "house" margarita. I thought there was a mistake and asked my server what he brought when our food came. He said it was a classic margarita. I told him I don't think so. A classic margarita isn't made with margarita mix, it contains tequila, cointreau, and lime juice. ... he looks at me like he didn't understand. I told him I didn't want the drink because it was made incorrectly. I also informed him that were it a golden margarita, it wouldn't be green. I requested a cosmopolitan. It came with a green olive, no cranberry or lime. The food I wanted was a mexican dish called arroz con camarones (supposed to be made with the same sauce as molcajete, topped with jack cheese.) I was told the Texas nacho was the closest menu item to that, so I obliged, and asked to substitute the chips with rice. I requested to included sauteed mushrooms, onions, & bell peppers as well, my server said okay. The food came out less than 10 minutes after ordering, but the arroz dish had steak, & shrimp, with melted white cheese sauce in the rice. No vegetables. Immediately after pointing this out, the server says, oh you wanted the vegetables with it? I said of course, that's what I told you, but there are none, the cheese you used is a sauce. He just walked away. My husband order the mixed fajita, but the vegetables were over cooked. The meat was watery like it had been made at another time than the vegetables. The steak was blackened but neither meat had any seasoning or char-grilled taste. They were a completely different entity from the vegetables. He requested corn tortillas, he was given flour. I finished my chips, watched my absent server pass our table repeatedly, to go to his other 2 tables, and outright avoid us. When I got up and approached him myself, I told him to please bring my check, which included both items I had sent back that I didn't consume. He said is there anything else? You can bring your check to the front. I said I wanted xangos. So he brought it on a plate instead of to go! The manager came to the table and completely justified my experience and told me I should of ordered the margarita sour on the side if I didn't like it. I clearly told her I didn't order the pre-mixed house drink, and she still insisted I should of asked for my mix separate if it was too tangy. I kept trying to explain i ordered a golden or classic margarita, whichever they had the ingredients to make, not a house mixed one. She didn't care, she still said I needed to pay for it. Then, when I explained the dish, she laughed at me when I told her I ordered texas nachos with rice instead of chips. ( I have a photo below to prove that) When she asked the server in spanish ( habla espanol elocuente) he told her I asked for asada, camarones, arroz, & queso. He blatantly lied and told the server I DID NOT asked for any vegetales. When I went to the front, I asked for the house manager, and here comes the same girl who sided with the server and told me I ordered the wrong thing. So basically we paid $58 for food and a drink I never ate, drank. I wanted my experience unforgettable, and it is, but in the worst kind of way. I have never been treated like a convict at a dining establishment in my life, I don't intend...
Read moreHad a great experience. It was my first time there.
Building - It's a nice modern building with lots of parking (good because it was very busy). Very clean and well-maintained inside and outside. It was a nice atmosphere. Tables, floors and chairs were very clean. Bathrooms were super clean- spotless really. Very pleased with that aspect of things!
Accomodations - We had a large party there to celebrate a recent college graduate (25+) & they took reservations & sat us all in the same area (2 long tabled & 1 large booth).
Servers - Multiple servers were assigned to us. Drink orders were taken & brought out within 5-10 minutes of being seated.Server for my table was great: friendly, efficient. In fact, all of the servers were, they were hustling and we didn't have to wait long for anything we requested.
Food - Chips & salsa were put on tables. Chips were good & fresh. Hot salsa was delicious, mild one was bland. I had beef burritos. The food was brought out in 15 minutes or less and it was hot (temperature) and delicious! The steak was cooked well, not over cooked and was well-seasoned and very flavorful. The dish was served with rice (it was bland, not my favorite but I put some sauce from the burritos on it and ate a little). Also came with sour cream, lettuce and pico/tomatoes. Portions are large. I ate one burrito and brought the other one home.
Drinks - Sweet tea was very good, just like we like it in the South: strong & sweet! But the real treat was the strawberry mango margaritas. It was cold, flavorful, sweet and they didn't skimp on the tequila. And it was only $5!
My total bill was $21. Well worth every penny. I enjoyed it and will be back again soon to try some different dishes and have some more...
Read moreI went there for the first time yesterday, I met a friend there for lunch. I had my service dog with me and was told that I would have to sit outside with a dog, or she needed to be wearing a service dog vest. I told her that service dogs are not required to wear a vest or have a certificate. She then asked me if I had a certificate and could she see it. No!! Service dogs do not require them!! I then told her that service dogs are protected under federal laws and do not require any type of documentation. She then told me that if any of the other customers complained, then she would have to do something. Please know that my service dog is 6 pounds and is highly trained. This place is asking for a lawsuit!! After the stress of this, I ordered my food, it was awful!! The salsa was disgusting!! Our waiter disappeared, never said he was leaving, then some other server comes to our table with our check!!! Never asks if we want anything else,.which I did, since the food was disgusting, I was trying to find something that was actually edible!! He never asked if I needed a to-go plate, even though my plate was to the side and full!! I had to ask for a to-go plate, then I came home and gave it to my cat!!! It is extremely disappointing that such a beautiful restaurant, such a clean and well-maintained restaurant has awful food and misinformed employees whose lack of knowledge is going to get them sued by someone who is less confrontational than myself and actually sues them for attacking a disabled person and their...
