My experience was terrible! If I could give zero stars I would have. I waited at the order screen for a few minutes and kept calling out on the intercom and no one ever answered. I finally drove around to the drive through window and a female employee came up and apologized. She said she didn’t hear anything on her headset. She was polite and took my order(this was probably the only good moment of my experience). After taking my order it went back downhill. All the employees we could see in the window minus the cook who was in the back walked away. We waited a few more minutes and after someone finally came back to the window, she said nothing, this was a different employee than the one who took my order. This employee just handed us our food out of the window and said nothing and walked off. She didn’t even give us our drink. I waited thinking maybe she was walking off to make it and return. I noticed she made a drink before she walked off but sat it on the counter. I looked behind me and noticed another vehicle had pulled up so I assumed maybe it was there’s since she didn’t give it to me. After she walked away, I witnessed multiple employees walking around in the kitchen, no one bothered to stop and check to see why we were still at the window. I yelled into the drive through window as it was not closed completely and I said excuse me twice when I saw someone walking by and no one acknowledged me. I also blew my car horn and no one still came to the window. I was finally able to get the attention of the cook when he walked up to put an order on the counter and I let him know we never received our drink and had been waiting. He asked me what I had then handed me the very same drink that the employee who originally handed my food and walked off made. So if I sound like I feel some way in this complaint I absolutely do! These employees deliberately ignored me as if my order and providing me with any decent customer service was beneath them and I know they are teenagers but I am highly disappointed in the service that was provided to me tonight and I will not be returning. Being a HRBP, I know this type of customer service is unacceptable and NO customer should have to have an...
Read moreStaff refused to change a order to save me 2$ when I pulled to the window & asked. I was told it was ok if they lose a customer or if I pull away from the window & leave because this saves time.. no one waiting behind me.. Asked for a manager, she gets another employee, finally the manager comes to the window to say he also agreed with the staff once I explained a 3rd time... I asked for corporates number.. then he said we're very short staffed, she doesn't know the prices & hasn't been through the training.. I said I'm the customer how is this my fault? Poor service from all 3 employees, he should have led with that & changed my order. I finally said keep my order the way it is & I will pay the 2$ more but will not likely come back, he very rudely refused to allow me to pay for my food & I never asked anyone to get it free at all. Very disappointed as I enjoy the food & custard.. The attitude was condescending, rude & nonchalant to say the least.. I didn't eat or drink it as we all know people do strange things in cases like this. All of it could have been avoided. I was not rude or pushy simply asking for the better deal. No signs posted saying it was their policy.. no number posted to reach out if you have a issue, concern or complaint. Just a awful...
Read moreWell. The young people working needed. Some guidance, for sure. Their work seemed okay, and they were pleasant. However, the custard machine was malfunctioning, with custard continuously flowing out of theachine without aviation of the handle. The workers were sharing a scoop to scoop the custard as it free fell I to the basin. The scoops were being placed into shakes and sundaes for the customers. Not sure that is something that wouldn't be frowned upon by DHEC. None of the employees seemed to complain though. They were either accustomed to the conditions, or just simply accepted what they could not control.
There was a 2.5 gallon bucket in the lobby where customers would line up to order, that was being used for a continuous leak from the ceiling. There was a caution sign on the floor, but the floor was still being wet, and there did not seem to be any plans to repair or correct the hazard.
The remainder of the lobby/dining area did appear well kept and tidy. Just a few things that required attention, caught my attention.
This is the first time I tried custard, and I actually Googled for a ice cream/custard location as I passed through Florence.
Maybe if I stop by again, things will have been repaired. The burger menu looked pretty...
