Food Lion — Local services in Florence

I love Food Lion. It always usually has BOGOs. The lady at the deli counter (I was there for a cake for Father's Day) was so professional and courteous!! They will open up extra cashier lines if there are a lot of people in line, too. Their meat is fresh, and their employees are usually very courteous as well. They keep their buggies stocked up so you don't have to go looking for one, too. I can't say enough good things about Food Lion...especially the one off of Pamplico Hwy here in Florence, SC. I will try to come back and post a pic of the cake when it's ready.

Okay...so here's the cake. KEEP IN MIND IT SAT IN A HOT CAR FOR APROX 45 MIN TO AN HOUR BEFORE THIS PIC WAS TAKEN. I ordered from a book, and it came out great for $19.99. I ordered yellow cake and the whipped icing. Let me tell you. It was so freaking delicious!!! I went back, and we got a cake to take home to eat bc I left him his. I WILL DEFINITELY be going back for my cakes. It beats Freedmans any day of the week and is way cheaper. Also, the white looking spots, especially in the middle of the cake, were from the reflection of the lighting in the dining room. They did a WONDERFUL job!!! My Dad was so happy and surprised at how good his cake looked. I think it made him feel special. And he is!!! Thank you to Food Lion on Pamplico Hwy for that cake!! Thank you to the lady who took my order. She was beyond helpful and very professional!!!! She deserves a raise!! Did I tell you?? FOOD LION IS MY FAVORITE GROCERY STORE!!! ALWAYS HAS BEEN...

1 star because i cant give a ZERO!! We Drove 30+ minutes to this establishment to send a western union. The Customer service lady named DEE was VERY rude and nasty from the start. She refused to handle our transaction as we asked. She called ther store manager TAMMY who was just as equally nasty. She should not be in charged. They are customer service and are NOT serving the customers in a kind way. I called western union and asked what their policy is with sending money.. they stated we can absolutely do what we're trying to do (and did the same transaction 2 days ago at another food lion location with absolutely no issues)but DEE &TAMMY are refusing to accommodate. They're VERY unprofessional. And should not be in charge at all. They also added a "closed" sign after we told them that a western union agent wanted to...

This used to be my favorite grocery store, but not anymore. In fact, the only reason I go here anymore is if I forgot something from where I get my groceries now. The reason I don't like this store anymore is that their prices have gotten out of hand. In fact, when I do go here to get something I forgot from my now regular grocery store, they are ALWAYS much higher on everything. In fact, when I go to the food lion at home, in VA, they seem to have lower prices than this store (and they don't have those stupid double shopping carts...which I suspect they got just so they can justify having sky high prices, because no other store that I've ever seen has those). I remember as a kid, the commercials where it said food lion has extra low prices...that definitely isn't the case...
