Fresh Harvest Cafe — Restaurant in Florence

Great food, however customer service could use a lot of help. A couple years ago this place was fantastic. Now after enlarging and remodeling, the good waitresses for the most part have been replaced by younger, simple minded, no personality cutie pies. As we entered today, a young gal busy on a tablet finally looked up at us and said, they’ll be right with you. As we waited, observed 1 waitress and a couple young ones , seaters, coffee pourers, hostess type. Finally the friendly waitress came to seat us. This gal was hustling close to 20 tables! Ordered pancakes and was told they don’t serve those or waffles after 11. Really. Had an omelette with O’Brien potatoes. When delivered, one of the cuties brought some crusty little frozen and not quite thawed out yet cubes that were beside the omelette. I told her I ordered O’Brien and she went back to the kitchen and brought some peppers and onions cold in a bowl and dumped them on my plate. Really. I had cold toast and had to ask for butter and jelly which came right from the fridge hard as hell. I had to chase down the older gal to get my coffee cup refilled. Really. The waitress did come check on us and left the bill, however the no personality , brain dead, and incompetent cutie took care of the credit card paperwork with a grunt here and there. Again-great food-horrible service, except for the older ones that have the know-how to be a good server. Take your chances folks, and remember you heard...

Prior to this last visit I would have given this place 5 stars. When we visit Florence we make sure to eat here at least once, if not everyday. This time we had our daughter with us and she has a dairy allergy. She ordered an omelette with no cheese and potatoes and toast. When her food arrived we noticed the cheese on top and it was sent back. The server told us that she was sorry and they would make her a new one. About 10 min later her food was brought out. It was the same omelette that had the cheese scraped off the top leaving a huge dip and there was still cheese inside. This was sent back again. She finally received her food and they did make a new omelette but the toast and potatoes were the same from the original order with small pieces of cheese sprinkled on it from the original plate because it was the exact same plate with just the omelette replaced. We were a little frustrated at this point and she decided to just eat around the cheese and make the best of the situation. She ended up getting extreme pain from this meal. I don't blame the server who helped us. She did her best. I am highly disappointed in the kitchen. I understand that it can be busy and mistakes can be made. That's acceptable. What isn't acceptable is they had more than one chance to fix it and they chose not to. We paid for the entire meal and nothing was compensated. I used to recommend this restaurant to everyone. We traveled from Portland to Florence for the July 4th long weekend and decided to visit Fresh Harvest Cafe due to its high rating and reputation for being a good place for quick food. However, we had the worst experience of our trip there.

Here's why I'm giving Fresh Harvest Cafe one star:

Unacceptable Wait Time and Service: We arrived around 11:30 am and waited for a hostess or waitress to seat us. Despite being there for 15 minutes, no one acknowledged us, making us feel invisible. There were plenty of open tables, and about five staff members were on the floor, yet we were ignored. Eventually, a lady seated us in the patio area, but only after an extended wait. Then, we waited another 10 minutes before our waitress finally took our order, and another 20 minutes before we received our food. It seemed like the staff didn't share tips, so waitresses only focused on their own tables and ignore others tables customers.

Lack of Basic Service: We were the only table without cutlery or napkins, forcing us to use baby wipes we had brought. One waitress promised to bring us a water refill, but we never received it, even by the time we left.

Overall, the service was extremely disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend Fresh Harvest Cafe based on...
