When this location opened about 2 years ago, it was great. Friendly, competent customer service; high quality, fresh ingredients; clean tables and condiment/drink area. It's done a complete 180 since then. Garden variety example of a company getting run into the ground by young, disinterested, lazy teens due to lack of management on duty. I arrived there yesterday for lunch at around noon. Not a soul eating there, but there were 3 young (and I do mean young, one of them did not look older than 12, making me question whether they are hiring Russian dwarfs or violating child labor laws) girls behind the counter gossiping and giggling about whatever inane tiktok challenge happened to be trending that minute while half of the food containers in their mise were either empty, or one scoop away from empty and the drink area was full of straw wrappers, lids, and crumbs. When I ordered, they weren't exactly rude, but far from chipper, and every other ingredient I wanted in my burrito had to be fetched from the back since the girls were too busy chirping to do any preparation for the lunch crowd. They were far from skilled in preparing the burritos as well, one of the girls actually broke my friend's burrito as she clumsily fumbled with it. Then when I went to fetch some iced tea at the disgusting drink area (which has an admittedly convenient sink/soap dispenser which would be great if the water pressure produced more than the equivalent of the urine stream of a 90 year old man with a prostate the size of a grapefruit), of course they were out of my desired flavor, which I'm sure would have easily been handled had there been an adult in the vicinity within the last week, but apparently that's too much to ask for.
Do yourself a favor if you want a burrito in town, go to Wawa, Tijuana Flats, or even Moe's. At least they resemble something more akin to a restaurant than a high school...
Read moreThis afternoon we visited 3 Pepper Burrito Co. at 24065 Peachland Blvd, Port Charlotte. It is located in the Peachland Promenade in the same general area as Publix and Jet's Pizza. My wife was intrigued by the name of 3 Pepper Burrito. We arrived and there were a couple of people in the place. We noticed right away that it was clean, bright and airy. The order started on the left side. I had already decided what I wanted to try so I ordered a Burrito Bowl with barbacoa beef double portion and the usual fixings. I like my food spicy hot so I ordered raw jalapenos and their hot sauce. My wife ordered the same sans the hot stuff. We got 2 burrito bowls, chips and salsa came with it and 2 drinks. The bill for 2 of us was a shade under $30 which I thought was reasonable. The food was good. We could have used some more sauce on the barbacoa as it was a little dry, but they did have some of their signature hot sauce by the fountain drinks, which I used liberally. The people were very friendly and helpful. There were several couples that came in while we were eating, but they all took their food to go. Which seems like what most people decided to do. What was strange is that they do not have a public restroom, or if they did, it was not marked at all. They did though, have a bowl and a faucet, soap and paper towels but the Fountain Drinks and the sign said, for washing hands only. I have NEVER seen that in any other place and I wonder if it is just an oddity or do they have that in other stores as well. It struck us as odd. Anyway, the food is good and reasonably priced, so if you are in the area, they would be a good place to check out. I am sure you will enjoy them as...
