For those who are not familiar with traditional ramen, here is a basic starter kit if you’d like.
I ordered to-go for starters. The packaging is phenomenal and is super safe for transportation. The broth, noodles, and ingredients are all separated. You can use the lid as a dish to help manage your quantities. The restaurant representative was incredibly helpful with what to pick.
As a ramen glutton, allow me to consider some modifications if you’re a bit cautious considering the price tag, in order to maximize your experience.
The Tonkotsu Ramen is a balanced and softer broth. It’s a nice starting point for beginners. If you want a highly balanced flavor, place the seaweed, bamboo, fried onion, mushrooms, ginger, and green onions on the side. That way it’s only broth, pork, and an egg. The seaweed, bamboo, fried onion is a strong flavor and may not be for you. In turn you can add a little at a time to enhance the flavor as subtly as you want. Doing the to-go order really allows you to do this.
For the quality and review, I would say it’s a 3 out of 5 stars. Nothing amazing, but if you are craving ramen and can’t drive to Tampa, Miami, or Orlando, then this will hit the spot.
The pork is a nice thick cut which is seasoned intensely. Almost overwhelmingly. The seaweed is just as strong in flavor. For the egg, you do not receive a full egg, only half. It cost $3 to receive a full sized egg. $5 for added meat. Unfortunately, the egg is not marinated and is a traditionally boiled egg. The broth is well poised and flavorful. It hits the mark and is the main draw of this ramen. The bowl is swamped with noodles which is excellent for the price.
Overall, for under $22, you get a significant amount of food engulfed in flavor. The price is considerably understandable now that I had my first bowl here. I could not finish my bowl and it was my only meal of the day. The thick cut slabs of pork is what really got me so full 🤣
Give the place a try, it’s a nice place to go on a first date given the ambiance and setup of the restaurant and a nice quiet place for...
Read moreI wanted this place to be my fiance and I’s new date night spot. The experience was unbelievably horrible. We went last night for Valentine’s Day. We were patient. We were there for 3 hours. From around 7-9:45 we sat. We were seated in a far back table, we asked to be switched to a booth and our very rude waitress told us no and that those are reserved for larger parties, but sits another couple there anyway. We didn’t get menus for about 25 minutes, didn’t get our drinks for about 45 minutes, our appetizers were room temp and tasted like they had been sitting out. Our drink order was taken 4 times and she still got it wrong. Our waitress was extremely nasty- I asked for chili oil and she gave me a used chili oil off of another persons table that had just finished eating. She didn’t tell the chef we added mushrooms to our miso ramen, she gave my fiance the wrong drink, she had an attitude with the table across from us so badly that they walked out- and proceeded to tell her coworker Ishmael (Ishmael was a delight and very helpful) that she was glad those people walked out. She was very rude and nasty. Her boyfriend came in and gave her a Valentine’s Day gift and she prioritized seeing him over getting us eating utensils because we had received our food but nothing to eat it with for 10 minutes. She made the entire experience unenjoyable. My fiance and I wanted to celebrate our valentines and being newly engaged. It was horrible. Her service was not worth a $90 ticket. I hope we can make this better because we would Love to return for the food. We even wanted to try the matcha tiramisu and the matcha cheesecake but we were so over it, that we left. My fiance tipped 12%....
Read moreI took my family here for lunch , we have all been dying to try it since it opened. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. I had the website up on my phone because we didn’t know what all of the items were and we were referencing photos. The waiter immediately stated in a harsh tone, that the only items they have are what are on the menu not what is online. I explained it was only for photos to see what the items were. Then when asking questions about the menu he kept saying “well look at the photo”. Despite the not so great service we were still excited. But then the food came. 11.50 for 4 pieces of shrimp should have been my first clue of the place. But the taste wasn’t bad. Then our meals came. Mine and my sons came and they were okay. I didn’t care for mine but I tried something new so I’m not sure if it was the meal or just that I don’t care for it. But my husbands meal never came. I tried to flag down the waiter but he completely ignored us . Eventually he came back to our table and I told him the food wasn’t here, he came back after another few minutes and said they’re making it now. Then , it came out wrong! My husband didn’t want to wait again since everyone else was almost done. So he ate the chicken off the top. It was dry, in ramen broth, the chicken was still dry! And over all he didn’t care for his dish either. Needless to say we will not be back. It was $100 for a Sunday lunch and food we barely ate and definitely...
