We were heading the bakery place but decided to give this place a try. Outside and inside is nice, but the food isent. We ended up spending $22 for three sodas, cheese roll, micro size patties, and a pholourie. Sad to say the only good thing was the sodas. These people are doing too much and not focusing on their guyanese cuisine. Food is terrible for the price and even if it was cheap it would still be terrible. We picked up the cheese roll because they looked great, when we bit into it - it was Iike a balloon, full of air. Patties were extremely small and doughie with little filling . Not complaining because the filling it self was nasty and wouldn’t wanna consume more of it anyway. Pholourie was as dry as a Popeyes biscuit and just bare flour and dye. Everything was literally flavorless. Really overpriced for nasty food. Your better off going to the bakery place and getting a bang for your buck. I would give it zero stars if I could. Good food sells, not good presentation. Your in the middle of the hood, nobody is gonna come into your so called food court and see your $10 special and say woah this a great deal?? We guyanese people don’t play with our bellies. Step it up...
Read moreI’ve now been here a few times. It appears that they’re trying to do more than they can handle. Many things on menu they don’t have.
The Guyana bread has been a hit or miss. Quite a few times now it’s been too brown and dried up. They may need to adjust the baking time and temperature. When it’s not too brown, it tastes great and doesn’t dry up.
The cheese flap is tasty, they use good cheese; but again you have to look for ones that are not too brown.
The boneless chicken curry and dhal puri is good. Nice soft dhal puri. Wings were tasty as well.
Few of the pastry’s tried needs some improvement. Cheese roll, chicken patty, too much dough, little filling.
Very pricey. Prices are up across the board. That is understandable, but for a chicken patty to cost $7 here and other pastry’s to cost $4-$5 for just one pastry with little filling, it’s not worth it.
Very nice place to sit down and eat. Just a few things in the business model and cooking that needs to be worked...
Read moreWent here recently to try. Got cream soda, beef curry, paratha roti, chicken fried rice, tennis roll, and mitai (large piece ones). The food tasted great but definitely too expensive for the portion size you get. Beef was cut too large. Tennis roll was large and tasted decent but not as good as Caribbean Supercenter. Mitai was good but not as good as my mom's. I would come back to try other things such as cheese roll, pine tart, Guyana bread. Restaurant is clean and nice. I agree with other reviewers that they have too many items and need to focus on perfected some core items. I was going to get chicken biryani but the lady at the register said for me not to get it because it's expensive ($15). If the workers there are suggesting things are expensive, then you...
