I've been to Vicky bakery several times, mainly because most of my favorite places are closed on Sundays for a good selection of pastries and coffee. I held off writing a poor review in the past because I'm a very easy going person and I understand people have bad days, but last week Sunday was my last straw. I came in with my daughter who was practically asleep in my arms when the lady helping me put my food and coffee down on the counter without saying that my order was ready. She was helping 2 other people so I just stood there and wait. She took my money and slammed it down on a tray with cookies and walked off. There were 5 other employees working and there were about 5 people in line with me so it's not like they were short staffed and overwhelmingly swamped. I finally put my daughter down and checked the bag to make sure it was my order on the counter and I left. The food here is usually cold, the coffee is good but the service is absolutely terrible! These ladies working need an attitude adjustment or they need to find another job not working with the general public. I am giving this place a 1 star review because of how many times I've been in and it's the same thing. To bad these ladies couldn't at least put on a fake smile from time to time because I've worked in hospitality and customer service for over 15 years and I'm an excellent tipper. That's fine, I'll take my business somewhere else where it's appreciated and spread the word about this place. Pastries and coffee are on every street...
Read moreI came here Sunday morning, July 23 at 12:23pm. I was the only customer. There were 3 ladies working, one really sweet lady with curly hair cleaning the floor, a quiet older lady cleaning in the back and a young lady by the name of Nahara A S (per the receipt) working the front.
I placed my order (A croissant sandwich a cortadito, coffee, a beef pastelito and an orange juice) and she couldn't LOOK MORE BOTHERED.
She snapped back saying they had no orange juice as if it was ridiculous that I had asked for it.
She explained what the Sandwich had inside of it and I told her it was fine as it was the description of the item and she described again slow as if I was dumb. I honestly had no idea what was going on.
The amount of patience it took me to not walk out was immense.
The entire time she treated me as an inconvenience, flipping the payment screen halfway when it was time to pay
I can now see why the place was empty.
The cortadito I asked for, per my wife, was bitter as well...the croissant sandwich was edible but you can tell it had been sitting out for a while. She barely toasted it. And the cafe con leche was bland
The only person who made us feel welcomed was the lady cleaning. Didn't catch her name but she had curly blondish hair.
Other than that, never coming back here again.
Also Nahara, change your face next time, even if you have to take a...
Read moreGenerally known for it's high quality of food and deserts, I visited this location on Friday, May 10th while on the way to the park to see my twin three-year olds play. The kids are always joking about bringing them donuts so I figured that I would switch up and bring Cuban style cookies.
Upon arrival, I noticed several different food options. Being hungry, I decided upon a Cuban steak sandwich. My order was promptly taken and the young lady went into the back to place my order. She disappeared for 13 minutes. I couldn't order my coffee as I waited or cookies for the kids. The other cashiers were helping other customers.
When my cashier returned, I ordered my Colada only to have her start cleaning the machine. Ready to complain, I said to myself - okay, she is cleaning the machine - I should wait and not say anything.
After the coffee, I went about my original intent and ordered five cookies.
Overall, this place has good food and deserts. They are not big on customer service and getting people in and out. Although I don't speak Spanish, language was not a barrier. Just slow service. May I suggest someone else clean the coffee machines so you can get customers in and out?
20 minutes plus on a small take-out order was unaccepable. Had it not been for the high quality of the food, I would have rated one star.
