Caribbean Sunshine Bakery — Restaurant in Florida

This is not a food post but a customer service post. There is a young lady who works there by the name Melissa. I believe that’s the name she gave when I asked her. I just have to commend her on her customer service. On two occasions when I have been there the 1st occasion was a packed busy chaotic Wednesday night everyone was furious about their orders being wrong, people were loud cursing at the cashier, being rude about their orders.To my understanding there was a new server that night who was working alone she was the culprit for the angry mob creating wrong orders but this cashier being at the front had to take their wrath. I salute her as she held her composure and at no point she spoke out of character or disrespected any customer. She tried her best to explain the new server situation some understood some weren’t having it but there were several cases I thought she would have lashed out at rude customers who deserves it but damn she was calm and collected. I must commend her as it’s rare you find persons who can keep calm during frustrating situations. Hell I know I can’t and I would have verbally attacked many of those customers already.

On another occasion a Sunday evening a homeless man came into the store harassing the customers including my husband. Nothing worse than being harassed by a homeless smelly person while waiting on food but Melissa she stepped in and stopped it. What awed me was she was stern to the point and respectful at the same time. I have been visiting Caribbean sunshine both locations for years and I have seen ways other cashiers speak to homeless people to leave the store but the way this young lady did it was to the point and respectful. Even the homeless man replied to her in a respectful manner and left right away. My husband high 5 her for having his back & we had to tip her just for that attitude. Keep it up young lady. 10...

They delivered to me the wrong food. I Had to drive all the way to the restaurant to get there expensive Oxtail because they gave me curry chicken (wrong food) which is less expensive, however, I had to go out of my way to drive to the restaurant to get the correct food, and they had the nerve to request the curry chicken back which to me is unsanitary (COVID-germs) to do as if they recycle their food to give people. The cashier was rude when I told her I left the old food at home she told me to bring the food next time and I told her I won’t be ordering with them again and she tells me “Oh Bless your heart” in a sarcastic way as if I ask her for any blessing!!! 😒 You make me travel to correct food because you gave me the wrong food then had the nerve to ask for food back then give me attitude!!! They don’t care about people!!!! They just want the money and move so slow. I don’t think they understand most restaurants are more affordable then theirs and they act like people need to order from them. Take That Jamaican Flag Down: Highly Disappointed but instead of keeping it to myself I had share it with the world.

I’ve ordered food here before and loved it. Today is July 4, 2023 and it’s 103 degrees outside and I didn’t want to be in kitchen today.

I ordered a large curry goat, rice & peas, with plantain. I also order large Oxtail, white rice, with cabbage. Now I’m home, ready to jump into my curry goat, first bite, rice with gravy, sweet. I immediately noticed that something wasn’t right because the sweetness I’m referring to is sugar. Who cooks rice and peas with sugar? Next bite into the curry goat and that too was cholesterol sweet. WTF??? My next move was to call the store. When I questioned the cashier, she apologized and said the heand blamed the chef. She also said she will leave a note so that I can come back tomorrow and get another plate. Now I’m hungry with nothing to eat. I guess I’m going to have to try the oxtail and ask my lady if she doesn’t mind sharing with me. SMDH.
