This is the best place in the area where you'll find true authentic Spanish food almost as good as your grandma's own kitchen! I’m not Cuban but I might become Cuban with the love I have for Cuban food and the delicious food served here at Carolina’s. Every time my friend visits from California we go here. He actually found this spot and it’s pretty close to my home, I’m so glad he did because even after he flies back, I continued going here. He knows his Cuban food as it’s a huge part of the culture where he lives in San Jose. Carolina’s always hits the spot with their rich flavors, generous portions, and amazing dishes. Classic dishes like Cuban sandwiches, roasted pork with rice and beans, fried green and ripe plantains, flan, Cuban coffee, and so much more. Seriously the Cuban coffee, espresso with the plantains is chefs kiss. Also, ask about the desert of the day, the cheesecake is so good! Everything tastes very rich. Excellent service from their staff, great atmosphere, very well priced, and a nice vibe overall, the music they play is so beautiful too. Thank you guys for always making me feel like I'm at home with your generosity and amazing food! Highly recommend!

I was in the area today so decided to stop in. I came in about 1:30pm so outside of the normal "busy" times. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a very friendly woman that said I could sit anywhere. Lots of the tables were dirty but it was just this one woman working the front of the house so I'm sure the lunch rush was tough on her. I ordered a water, an empanada and a cuban sandwich. The empanada crust was amazing, very light and airy and also flavorful! I would definitely recommend ordering the empanada. The cuban sandwich was just like a traditional cuban sandwich with pulled pork, ham, Swiss cheese (I opted against cheese), mustard and pickles. It was a very tasty sandwich, wasn't the best cuban I've had but it measured up to many great Cubans I've tried. The best part was the prices! My bill was under $14. Overall I give a 5 star review and if I was in the area again I would definitely come back.

Went here while my car was at the mechanic across the parking lot and I shouldn't have. It did help us not to starve but the food was not good. I got a potato ball which was cold in the middle and tasted like freezer. The waitress took it back and microwaved it. Heck no! I returned it. My tamale was nasty barely any meat. The rice was not authentic. There is no cream when asked or sauce... they had reg hot sauce which I had to use in order to eat that rice. I also had a pork empanada and the taste of pork was so strong. My daughter had fried fish, fries and salad she didn't like. We'll the salad was ok. When I got the bill they were tryna charge me for the potato ball that I sent back. They took it off but idk how this place has all these stars. It was also uncomfortable making you feel like if your not spanish you don't belong. They should hire more English speaking waitresses.

On 9/2/2023 around 3pm i ordered at Carolinas Cuban rest. the white rice, red beans, plantains but i ask her what they had for protein???? so i decided on the chicken fricase..by the time i got home and checked the food that i ordered,,,what i got was,,,, yellow rice, black beans and the 2 chicken thighs with no juice bc it was in foam containers it spilled all over the bag..so, i went back the following day with the food they gave me, the waitress ask me,, so what are we going to do?? i said just give the right order give me what i ordered,, i said i usually order ropa vieja, which its tasteless,,white rice and red beans w/ plantains ..so she ask me what are we going to do??? i said give me what i ordered ,,,shes started rambeling then she goes and complains out loud in front of the clients telling the cooks that she cant remember what everybody likes and once again,, i ask her to please chk in the POS system for the order, but she didnt,,,she did remember that i wanted rice and beans, i said yes,,, she kept telling me,,that i didnt specify yellow or white,, i said you didnt ask me what kind of rice i wanted???? you said rice and bean????? i said,,, yes, well i assume is white rice...she went and complain to the cooks from across the kitchen the cooks loudly are telling her,,, that is the last time she does this,, because i brought the food the following day,,,,i told her i live far but i bought back the order, the waitress with out asking me throws the food in the trash,, so i got up and i said..this is the first time,, i got up i said thank you i dont want your food and i left..the kitchen should NOT put the food in to go foam containers by the time i got home all the juice of the chicken spilled all over the bag...Good luck and God bless...last time i visit you this location. i dont appreciate the hostility for food...i rather not have the food also no need to be loud nor rude neitherless in front of clients... solo fui a que me dieran lo que ordene, el arroz blanco, hab rosadas, platanos maduros y pollo en fricase....desafurtunadamente despues de el argumento se me quitaron los deseos de comer la cosinera la señora major, es una arrogante.....debio darme la orden correcta y si queria discutir o hablar sobre mi persona debio haber esperado que yo me hubiese ido,, que falta de respeto y de etica de parte de la mesera y la cocinera el estar discutiendo sobre cliente por la comida,,,, no necesito un dolor de estomago y por esa razon no quise nada y me...

FOOD: I have had both excellent/ fresh meals and also dried out/ not-so-fresh meals. Quality is inconsistent, but the flavors keep us coming back. SERVICE: Let's just say we order take-out since our last dining experience. As service professionals of 30+ years, we were feeling very anxious and overwhelmed watching this one young server work the front of the house during lunch service. Alone. She was ansering phones, taking and processing togo orders, making espresso drinks, waiting tables, bussing tables, delivering food. The poor girl just didnt have the organizational skills and service experience to handle it. Mind you, there were only 14 people in the restaurant. We witnessed dissappointed tables getting dishes delivered basically 1 person at a time, empty tables stacked with dirty dishes, our own table didnt even recieve utensils or our beverages until after our meals were delivered. We had to ask for them. It was quite a chaotic dining experience. Might I suggest that you staff the front of the house with one person who handles the phones, to-go orders, counter/ coffee service, and perhaps the patio tables, and another server that serves the rest of the tables and they split tips? We really want to see you succeed, there is great potential yet much room for improvement in service. Looking forward to our next meal from this restaurant~...

I'm a huge fan of Cuban sandwiches and this place came up in my recommended list. My wife, son, and I decided to give this place a try.

This place is tucked in by 19 and close to 52. Our first thoughts of the place were "Is this place closed?" As there was nobody in the restaurant looking from my car into the windows.

We walked in and were greeted by a really nice gentleman who advised we can sit anywhere we choose. Once seated we were promptly provided menus and asked for our drink order. Drinks arrived quickly and after a few minutes we ordered our food. I ordered the Carolina sandwich and my wife ordered the autentico sandwich Cubano "Cuban sandwich". We decided to try a beef empanada as well. Food arrived within 5 - 10 minutes. We started with the empanada and found it fresh, flaky, and very tasty. The Carolina sandwich was essentially a Cuban with Spanish sausage added. Full of flavor and added an extra touch to the sandwich that was just great. My wife's Cuban was fantastic and honestly the absolute best in Pasco county. Once we finished we decided to try their tres leches. Good Lord this was so good and tasted just like the homade tres leches I've come to love.

Overall Great service, wonderful food. We will most definitely...
