Casa potin Bakery — Restaurant in Florida

I decided to stop at this bakery for my twenty-first birthday. I found the staffs behavior deplorable and condescending. I wanted to buy a small cake. The stuff told me they couldn't sell me one. There is a full case of them, and a whole fridge full of sheet cakes. I would have completely understood if the cake in the case was purely displayed!! But that was not explained to me. Nor was there any reasoning behind not selling me the cake. They explained through snickering that I could only purchase the individual premade slices of cake. I decided to settle, content with two slices. The staff pretended not to understand when I said, "I would like the two slices please," and almost completely ignored me. They only seemed interested in responding to my boyfriend. The 2 female staff members snickered between themselves the whole time. I don't know if they believed I couldn't understand them or couldn't hear them either way. What they were saying was inappropriate. I really hope you don't treat all your customers like that. Visited today for assorted pasteles and empanadas. This place has been our preferred choice for Cuban baked goods for many years. Our experience today was disappointing. The thin guava pasteles which have always been a favored specialty, were overcooked to the point that they were difficult to bite into and chew, and they hardly had filling. All the baked empanadas we ordered were overcooked. Their fillings were very limited and dry and the pastry was so overcooked it resembled a cracker. Frankly, we concluded that this product should have been discarded instead of sold. All that we ordered left much to be desired and service would benefit from training in professionalism. Extremely disappointed with the customer service here and the the super high prices on burned pastels. They charged me $3.25 for one and l know inflation is at its worst but dam . I had asked her kindly on what the prices were on the pastel she sold me and she gave me a nasty attitude like if l didn’t have the right to know. She stated l will give you the recipe and you can see it there .

Then placed the change and receipt on the table and said next customer, didn’t even have the manners to give it to me on my hand. What l felt like doing was throwing it her face. But of course l am better than them and will never step in there again!!!!
