First of all, I went in post-hurricane, which is why the 2 stars instead of no stars. The crowd was probably that of a less than average Friday night. There were empty tables. We sat about 5 minutes before server came. Ordered drinks. 10 minutes later our waitress came back with companions drink but not mine. A few minutes later she came by and said "oh, we're out of the watermelon." Ok, I ordered something else. Wait, wait, wait....waitress serving drinks to other tables. I finally got up and went to the bar. Waitress came over and said my order STILL couldn't be accommodated. I ordered again. Wait wait wait....flagged a manager and asked for my beverage. When it finally arrived, it was wrong. Waitress finally came over and we ordered: appetizer of southwest egg rolls. Entrees: chipotle crispers and Margherita flatbread salad with an add-on of seared shrimp. The egg rolls came out within a few minutes. They were hot and very good. After that, nothing. Never saw our waitress. At all. A man was seated next table and NOBODY ever went to him at all. He sat there about 20 minutes and then left. We sat 1 HOUR AND 15 MINUTES waiting on entrees. Restaurant was maybe half full. We flagged down our waitress and asked about our food. Another 10-15 minutes went by and finally it arrived. It was gross. My salad was so drowned in dressing it was inedible. The shrimp were small, under seasoned and underwhelming. The flatbread was "on its way" and when it showed up, it was underdone, greasy and inedible. My friends' food was ok - it was hot and fresh. It appeared that our server forgot to put in our order. We called the manager over. I showed her the drowned salad, the inedible flatbread, explained about the drink issues, etc. She was very nice. Explained that they were understaffed due to the hurricane and that the company insisted they open anyhow to "feed the community." Can't do that if you're unprepared. Everything was taken off the bill except my friends' drink. Here is my biggest issue: I have worked as a server in busy restaurants over the years. We've been grossly short staffed, busy as hell and have run out of specials. None of those conditions excuse bad service. Not once did our server come by to even check on our drinks. Not once did she come by and let us know that the kitchen was backed up or that they were working on our order. We just ceased to exist, which was the most disturbing. I think she would have been the same no matter what.
Will I return? Maybe. The manager did make things right. And the circumstances weren't the best, obviously. The fact that they were open despite being completely unprepared is disturbing. It seems like this particular Chilis was hoping to make a profit on the aftermath of Irma no matter how bad the experience was for the customers. Chilis: if you really wanted to "feed the community," maybe you could have offered free appetizers or a discount to...
Read moreWe went at 6pm on the Saturday of Mother’s Day weekend. We were able to get a table without a wait which was a pleasant surprise. We had a less than desirable experience following. They did not have Dr Pepper or root beer. They did not have sweet potatoes for a side. I was given my soda in a to go cup. That would lead to a longer than desired wait for a refill. Upon requesting a refill, it still took at least 10 minutes to get it. All would have been tolerable, had it not been for a 45 minute wait for a mini molten desert that never came for our child. Even after asking about it and being told by our server she would be right back with it, we were still waiting 15 minutes later. At that point, a manager came by to ask us how we were doing. We informed her of the situation. She was extremely apologetic and offered to get it for free, but we weren’t optimistic after everything else so we declined the offer. She comped the kids meal on our bill, which was a nice gesture even though we had a free kids meal coupon. Upon looking at our bill, we noticed a $7.50 charge for a skillet cookie which we had neither ordered nor received. We brought it to the servers attention. She said she would take care of it. We sat waiting over 10 minutes for her to return. The manager came by again asking if all was alright. We explained that we were waiting for the bill correction. She said she would take care of it, which she did in minutes and comped another of the meals without us requesting it- which was very nice of her as well. The manager and server were very polite. But in the end we spent over 2 hours on a meal that should have at most taken an hour at that point on a Saturday night and did not receive the mini molten we informed the server of when we were initially ordering, didn’t get it after reminding her, and still didn’t get it after asking again after the 45 minute wait where our server was missing in action. . The server was either inexperienced or overwhelmed and was lacking support. Either way, it led to a less than enjoyable experience and leave us not likely to return to...
Read moreReceived a couple Chili's gift cards so my husband and I decided for lunch we would place an order for take out on the website. We had ordered the pick 3 appetizer which was the cheddar bites, boneless chicken wings and blooming onion pedals and for entrees we went with the boss burger and a Swiss mushroom burgers. We arrived to get the food just a minute before the website it would be ready, and it was already sitting ready at the kiosk where we paid for the food. Our boxes felt warm to the touch so we figured it couldn't possible be cold yet as we had just ordered it 20 minutes earlier. Once we got home we opened the boxes to find the two most disgusting looking excuses for what could be passed off as burgers all mushed up with soaking wet buns completely saturated in grease and juice leaving the buns completely worthless. We ordered them both pink in the middle, instead we had completely charred to a crisp burger exteriors surrounding a cold, soggy mush for the interior. Also for sides we decided to try the tomato and asparagus, unfortunately this was also a catastrophe as the grape tomatoes were smashed inside the box and the asparagus under cooked to the point they were hard to chew, last but not least someone thought it was a good idea to leave large chunks of uncooked garlic cloves blended in with the vegetable, what a disgusting experience, we are probably never going to be eating at a Chili's ever again in the future after this absolutely...
