My husband, son and I came into the Chilis on Wells Rd in Orange Park around 8:00pm on Saturday night. When we first arrived, the hostess was leaning over the host stand just starring at us as we walked in. She never attempted to open the door for us or offer us a "Hi! Welcome to Chilis!" The host put off an unwelcoming vibe and you could tell she did not want to be there and she did not enjoy her job. She asked us "how many?" We answered "three" and she was off to wipe down a table. While we were waiting, we noticed they were not very busy at all and it seemed pretty slow for a Saturday night. After waiting 5 minutes for the Host to clean a table for us (which should of already been cleaned considering there were staff standing around talking to each other and again, the restaurant was not very busy.) we were taken to our table. It took our server 10 minutes to even acknowledge us and get drink orders which was a bit frustrating. When it came time to order food, I ordered a Triple Dipper and my husband ordered a Medium 12oz Sirloin. After waiting over 30 minutes to receive food that should have only taken 10-15 minutes tops to cook, a server brought out our food. She placed the food down and proceeded to walk away. She did not seem to care if we needed anything or if our food was correct. After looking down, I immediately noticed that the Big Mouth Bites were not as I requested and I called after the server as she was walking away. I explained that my burgers were supposed to have no ranch on them. She said "Um ok... I guess I'll take everything back then." She offered no apology and took back all of my food instead of fixing the one issue with the burgers. Now, after waiting over 30 minutes for food, I am stuck waiting more. Then, my husband cut into his steak to discover that it was cooked well done.....I would say even more than well done as it looked like a hockey puck. It took another 5 minutes untill we saw our server again and we showed her how much the steak was cooked. Now I would like to pause right here to say that the correct thing to do in this situation is to apologize sincerely to the guests, have the kitchen recook these items on the fly and immediately alert the manager so he or she can come over to the table. I regret to report that none of these things happened. After another 10 minutes, no food came out. No manager was to be seen. My husband, infuriated, got up from the table and told the Host we were leaving. It wasn't until then that she got the manager and by this point it was too late. This was by far the WORST experience all around we have ever had at a Chilis or any dining establishment. This location needs to be re-trained all the way from Host to Management. We are very disappointed in this poorly ran restaurant and we will not...
Read moreThe only reason I'm Rating a one star because it makes you make a selection. The service was horrible from the start! They don't have paper/physical hand held menus, you have to scan QRC code. Not everyone have a smartphone or the signal is great in the restaurant. And, who wants to read a menu on your phone. When inquired about a paper menu, the young male (DJ) with SO MUCH attitude, said, that's all we have. When my co-worker expressed concerns about the cell phone barriers, he said, that's the Customer fault if they don't have a smartphone or pull up menu. Then he proceeded to say, I'm not your waitress, ask her, walked off with expression of, I don't care! When the waitress finally came to the table, my co-worker expressed how rude he was and asked for a paper menu and she said, they don't have paper menus that's from Corporate. Well maybe that's a way of saying, Chili's is not doing good financially, a way to cut cost. We are pretty much out of COVID. Things are open to full capacity. She said, I can tell you what's on the menu. Who in the freak frack goes to a restaurant to order and have to look at the entire menu on your phone or have waitress go through the menu with you - calories, what comes with it - sauces it's cooked in and so forth? Her attitude was slightly above DJ. My co-worker asked if we wanted to go some place else. On the way out webasked the hostess- Madison, what was the young guy name and she told us DJ, my co-worker asked what is his name and not what he is called and she snickered and said, I don't know, all I know is DJ. We went down the street to Ale house - great food, atmosphere, waiter and Manager acknowledged us and gave us a complimentary dessert, dropped easily $100+. That's was great service from the timenwe walked in the door until we left. Way to...
Read moreAll I can say is steer clear of this place. Third time's the charm, or three strikes you're out. Problems began from the time we stepped in the front door. We should have left but gave them the benefit of the doubt that maybe they just gotten over a dinner rush or something. Service was so slow that it was almost non-existent, 15 minutes for drinks, 25 minutes for chips and salsa, over an hour for our meals. Asked for straws for our drinks three times before I had to get up and go to the bar and get them myself. It was so bad that we requested a different waitress. We had a party of five with a young child and an infant and they sat us at a very small table with six chairs that might have been good for four people. Neither manager was wearing a name tag or offered a name, the first manager was nice and said he would make sure to address the problems. That's where it all went south when we found hair in our food. The meals that were acceptable we took with us after asking four times for our check and to-go boxes. We were told that the meals that had hair in them were going to be removed from the bill and they were not. Then the second manager decided to cop an attitude and bo up at me in the dining room where I proceeded to tell him what I thought about his establishment and the problems that we've had in the past. I will be making a formal complaint with corporate And will not be returning to this location. I've never had problems like this at any other Chili's location that I have ever visited. The area or district manager needs to go into this place and clean house as they obviously have major problems with the staff starting...
