We have been customers of China Wok on Gladiolus Dr. for many years. The food has been declining in quality but it is convenient and in prior years the service was fast and friendly. However, our last two orders were terrible and the service was even worse. My Sweet and Sour Pork consisted of a box of greasy fried pork balls with a container of red sweet sauce – no veggies – no pineapple – no nothing! I asked for this to be spicy – not even a pepper flake in sight. It is a shame when an old lady from the south can make better Chinese food than the Chinese. I had to go home and sauté my own vegetables and add seasonings to get even a mediocre meal. So much for fast food. What is even worse is the poor service the owner’s children are providing. The young man who served me was sullen, never even bothered to make eye contact and didn’t even give me a detailed receipt so I could see if the order was correct (it was not correct on previous visits). He shoved a credit card ticket at me and set a bag on the counter. No thank you – not even a smile. This has been a problem for several years and I hope the owner takes time to improve her business. Where is the friendly young woman who used to be at the register? Are these children even old enough to handle a cash register? This owner needs to rethink her policy of sending her untrained children out front. In conclusion, if you want really good oriental food, try Osaka just a half mile down San Carlos. I will not be returning...
Read moreI hate writing bad reviews but I really wanted to email them this privately and they have no email on their website and I don't feel comfortable phoning as they seemed really busy tonight while I was there . I think they need to know. I am sorry to say their Mongolian chicken was ALL onions and hardly any chicken and did not look anything like the pic on the website that I phoned and specifically asked for the pic on the website that has a few GREEN onions and nice YELLOW peppers in it and a lot of nice chunks of chicken covered in what looked like a nice thick sauce... that is not what I got - 50% onions and not yellow or red peppers but GREEN peppers... (not like the pic on their website at all) and it has the spicy sign next to it on the menu - uh uh - not spicy at all -very dull. And the sauce tasted basically like a slightly altered soy sauce - not special at all and not spicy either. Too bad but not a good first impression. When I get Chinese take out it needs to be better than my cooking... this was not. I use a TON of onions in my cooking too so trust me I love onions. Sorry but I think you...
Read moreThis review is relative to what your regional taste in American versions of Chinese cuisine is based on.. I'm from the northeast.. Chinese food varies from each respective region. For someone from new england new york, this place is the closest you will find here in cape coral to your comparison. They do not have the golden chicken fingers, and the dark brown molasses pork fried rice.. but they are a fast and flavorful find if you seek the northeastern version we are accustomed to.. enjoy! We will only order out from this...
