My husband and I were at Costco in Fort Myers, Fl yesterday. After shopping, we were hungry. I selected this restaurant from a list zI read online, "15 Best Restaurants in Fort Myers". The photo of a lobster roll is what steered me. Upon arrival, we noticed an outdoor dining area that was cooled by fans, overlooking the parking lot. It was a beastly hot day so we opted to dine inside. We were approached by a friendly waitress, Krickett and we were promptly seated, offered menus and we ordered. My husband and I try to watch our budget, so we share entrees when we go out either for dinner or for lunch and quantities are usually enough. We shared a delectable traditional style lobster roll, priced at $18, and it came with a small cup of coleslaw. I added an order of fries on the side, which were great, had the skins on, which we like. We each had an iced tea. We had to ask for an extra plate but were promptly given one, with a smile. We were a little surprised at the small portions, but we found that after eating, it really was sufficient. Most people would want their own entree, we know. But...This was THE BEST lobster roll I have ever tasted, the slaw was perfect and so were the fries AND service by Krickett was very good. The restaurant is adorable, but we wished it was on the water as the ambience was perfect for that. Great food, cute place, wonderful overall. I want to go back soon and try something else, although that Maine lobster was mighty fine! And it is Maine lobster they serve, not Caribbean lobster, which although good,...
Read more@CapeCodFishCo is a cute little seafood restaurant in the planet fitness plaza on the corner of Old McGregor/SanCarlos/McGregor at 15501 Old McGregor Blvd In Ft Myers.
We were in the mood for fresh seafood. There are so many seafood restaurants in SWFL. Usually, what makes up our mind is wait time/crowds. We generally love to find the hidden gems, the ones that people are not totally aware of yet.
We loved CapeCodFishCo for multiple reasons. The food was really prepared. Not pre-made, not a bunch of heat and serve, nuked rubbery or over done boxed "food."
I ordered the New England clam chowder (white), and my hubby ordered the Rhode Island (red) clam chowder and we shared the appetizer of boom boom shrimp. Both are very good and filling. Our son ordered the Cruben sandwich, which was fried cod, crisp cole slaw, swiss cheese, their special sauce on grilled rye bread with some pretty awesome french fries.
If we were taking bets, who had the best meal, I don't know who would have won. All the food was great!
Several of the neighboring tables had lobster rolls. They seemed to be very popular, I plan to try that the next time we visit.
Give this restaurant a try. Hope you experience a great meal, just like we...
Read moreI'll give it 5 stars for the clam chowder alone. Not so thick and gooey like you find in most restaurants. Could there be a little more clam, sure but it's not something to complain about since the flavor and texture is out standing. The fried Cod is on point, not British style, but very good and worth the price. Fried shrimp was very enjoyable, but still not a complex batter. The only drawback has been the fries. If you order them extra crispy it improves the experience.
The servers are very pleasant. They are quick to refill your beverage and the food comes out HOT!! Not sure why more restaurants can't accomplish this.
My wife and I find having a bowl of chowder (my own bowl) and splitting a dinner is more then enough food at least in a lunch setting. The food coma isn't too bad.
The owner is very attentive and checks in with the patrons while enjoying their meal. He asked about our meal and I told him the chowder is top notch, but you need to work on the fries. If your not honest they can't do better.
Go there an enjoy a nice meal and support this restaurant. We need places like this and not all the chains that are...
