Chipotle Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Florida

A three star review that is closer to a two star review then a four star. Specifically with what I deem to be leadership/management related issues.

I frequent this location and I’ve seen on multiple occasions what appear to be team/staff meetings with local leadership. I can only imagine that they are driving home small portions to this staff. It’s insulting how little we as consumers are getting here, and frankly, it’s inept decision making. In an effort to make an extra .50 per burrito or $1 per bowl, you’ll end up driving frequent customers like me off to the location in Trinity. I have to imagine, when you think about the ingredients, each burrito alone has at least a $5-$10 per burrito profit. In an effort to maximize that by cheating out your loyal customers who come in 3 times a week, you’ll end up losing those customers who you might be profiting $15-$30 per week in an effort to make an extra $1-$2 per week off that customer. It’s a tad insulting.

I specify this being a management issue because the employees here are wonderful. All are very friendly, professional, and always have a smile on their face. I imagine they are following down the orders they get from leadership to absolutely skimp the customer on portion sizes. I hope Chipotle corporate sees this because this can impact the brand overall.

The location itself is new, clean, and as mentioned, the staff is great, although very understaffed, which again, is a management issue.

We will not be going back to this chipotle. Multiple issues here. We ordered about two weeks ago, picked up through the drive-through window and got home. Order was all wrong. Everyone’s order, all five of us, had their order messed up in someway. I tried calling to let them know, and nobody answered the phone. I kept calling for about 10 minutes and it just rang.

Fast forward to Monday night. We thought we would give it another try. Place our order to go and picked it up inside this time. When I picked up the order, I asked if they double checked it because of our recent problem. They all just stared at me and said I think so. The place was disgusting. I felt so dirty. Food all over the floor, ice Was overflowing in the Coke machine, Ice all on the floor, Tables were dirty, I just felt so gross. Got home, My daughter first found pieces of old lettuce in her guacamole. It was basically a side guac with disgusting lettuce mixed around in it. My guac was absent of lettuce! Other food was fine. Just ok. I was just glad our order was right this time. Come midnight, We all felt nauseous. And then one of my kids was throwing up for four hours. It was a miserable night. A good place to pick up good food. This is one of the over 3750 restaurants in the chain that is headquartered in Newport Beach, Ca. I have been to many of their locations in many different states. This one is located off the north side of US 54 just west of the Suncoast Parkway. There is not a lof of parking in front of the location. This was our first visit to this location but it is very similar in style, quality, and service to their other restaurants in that you order at one side of a line and follow your meal through the line to completion adding items that you want as you move down the line. They serve bowls and burritos with beans, rice, and meats. Their ingredients are fresh and I have always gotten a good meal. Normally I order and eat there but not this time. This time we actually ordered a large (5 boxes) of food for a party. The price was reasonable and it was prepared fresh. The staff was very friendly, the restaurant was clean and paying and picking up was very easy. The staff actually helped carry and put the food into the car. The food was very good and still hot and cold when we got it to our destination. The only downside was that this seems a popular hangout for teenagers when I visited for the pickup and they were not a quiet group. I would recommend this location to my fellow travelers looking for a good meal...
