Chipotle is one of my favorite places to get food to-go because I know it will always be fresh, delicious, fast and priced reasonably. Today I placed an order from Chipotle on US 19 in Palm Harbor through their app for pick-up. When I walked up to the store, I was surprised to see that the door closest to the parking lot was locked with a sign on it indicating customers should use the main entry doors. I am not sure why this was done - I would think it would be better to have both doors working so that one could be used for entry and the other for exit to limit the need for guests to come in close contact with each other. Having only one door available for entry and exit forces guests to use the same door and run into each other when entering and exiting. It was nice to see that they were taking social distancing seriously by having small signs standing up on various tables indicating that they were not to be used. There was also a sign on the entry door stating that guests were required to wear face masks inside the store. Three small tables with umbrellas were available for outdoor dining too. Pick-up was a breeze (as usual), with my order bagged, ready and waiting for me on the shelf close to the register. I was able to check for my name and get my food without having to interact directly with any staff members - helpful during this pandemic. Now for the important part, the food! I ordered a burrito bowl with brown rice, carnitas, black beans and fresh tomato salsa. The oblong bowl was filled with so much food, I was able to save half for lunch tomorrow. The carnitas was cooked to a tender perfection, falling apart with only a fork. I was surprised that this time the carnitas did not have much flavor (compared to previous orders) and tasted as if someone had forgotten to season the meat. Luckily, the salsa made up for it and combining everything together made for a great meal. However, if this happened again, I would probably start ordering a different protein so I can enjoy the flavor I have come to enjoy from Chipotle. If this is your first visit to this Chipotle location, it is in a small building with AT&T store, close to US 19 (not in the main plaza). The building is close to the Boston Market restaurant. There is a small side street next to Chipotle (Coral Landings Blvd.) that connects to West Lake Rd., if you want to avoid making a U-turn on 19.

Went to this location for the first time a few days ago. The man ag the front with 2 large silver earrings was rude, no smile or even saying hello. Asked for a tortilla on side and he pretended tl warm it and wrap in tinfoil, already knowing the tortilla warmer was broken. He was sloppy and unfriendly when putting the meal together. I sat down to eat in store and tortilla was almost fridge cold. Walked back to ask for a new one and he saw me and just walked away before I could say anything. Went to the other tortilla warmer for mobile orders and made a new one (so he clearly knew it was broken before). He just plopped it on the glass ledge and walked away. Suspected he was just having a bad day so came back a few days later (on Sunday). There was a different team there. The restaurant was DISGUSTINGLY dirty. Every single table, bar none, had leftover food from prior customers on it, there were chunks of food and trash all over the floor. Literal piles of spilled rice and beans on some chairs and the floor. When I asked if someone could help wipe down our table, I waited about 3 minutes and then did it myself. When someone finally came out, they wiped down about 2 tables (pushing all the food onto the floor) and then walked away. Felt depressing and un-hygienic to eat there.

I was so looking forward to going to Chipotle. Then when I get there and I look in the case I think well it'll be okay. It was not! My first bite was a piece of steak and I couldn't even chew it because it was all fat and had the leftover taste! Then I took a bite of the guacamole, I had to take a drink immediately because it was so salty that, that was all I could taste. I continued to eat. Of the few pieces of steak that were in the bowl, most of them were hunks of fat and a little bit of meat. It was disgusting. I basically ate the salty guacamole, lettuce, sour cream, cheese, chicken and a few bites of rice. I ended up throwing more than half of that bowl away. Too much rice, too much salt, and nasty fatty steak! I went to one of the servers and showed them the meat and told them it was all fat. That nice server walked over to whom I believe was the manager, and that person totally ignored me. Absolutely nothing like the beautiful photographs and food they show on the commercials for Chipotle!

Latest Review: It has been months since I had any issues and this isn't a big deal as I noticed, but could've caused some serious health issues.

After getting my bowl done, the guy working the register was in the bathroom cleaning (didn't know if someone was actually going to help me or if I was just standing there looking cute), came out to put the bottles from the bathroom on a surface that was meant to be for food from what it looked like "maybe it just wasn't cleaned". Took his gloves off and without washing his hands started spreading all the germs on the screen and anywhere he touched. (I darted to grab my food before he could touch it)

I'd prefer the same person handling my food washes his hands at least once after washing the bathrooms for the sake of everyones health. Anyone who has ever taken a servsafe and cares just a little bit knows this. I did it in the industry for the sake of thinking others would too, I was naive.

Old Review:

Getting a fishy taste from my steak today I got in my bowl… I’ve been here a lot and this is a first. The staff are always incredible, but the fishy steak ruined my bowl and my dinner today…

Update: they addressed the issue very quickly! Impressed with how fast they were to respond to this. It was definitely a one off thing, went back a few days later and food was fresh! There still doesn’t seem to be any sense of portion control as every person gives me a different portion. I noticed I tend to get better portions than most by just being kind to the person across the counter, it’s...

Chipotle the chain has a great product and good business practices. However, the US 19N branch fails to deliver the consistent experience we expect from a Chipotle. I've dined at this location over 30 times and easily half of my visits have had an issue.

  1. Chicken is always burnt. I've brought this to their attention which they blamed on a bad grill. 6 months have passed and most of their chicken is still tar black.
  2. Pits in the guacamole. I have almost broken a tooth as pit from an avocado was left in. They apologized but tooth breaking objects should not be in soft spreads.
  3. Portion sizes not consistent with corporate. You are supposed to get a 4oz serving of meat on a bowl. However, several occasions their employees barely filled the tongs to put meat on a bowl. One time the amount given was closer to 2oz and when I stated I would like a normal portion of meat I was told "If I give you more, I will have to charge you". What kind of customer service is that? I wasn't asking for double meat, or trying to squeeze more product. I wanted the expected amount that I was paying for.
  4. Under-cooked ingredients. The rice tends to be under-cooked and crunchy.
  5. Poor point of sale operation. Several times I've had to correct the price listed as I was charged for another customer's bowl, or not given a tortilla I requested. They bunch up several customers order together with no separation and do not communicate this to the teller resulting in orders not matching their...
