Einstein Bros. Bagels — Restaurant in Florida

I come to this specific Einsteins all the time... Although I haven't been in a few months, I was extremely happy to see that the management has changed since my last visit. After ordering a bagel sandwich, I noticed new items on the menu, bite-size bagels filled with shmear. I asked the (younger) girl serving me if they were good and she said yes, so I ordered one. She took one from the display area, put it in a bag and handed it to me. While I was waiting for my bagel sandwich to be made, I took a bite of the shmear-filled bagel bite. I made a comment to my friend that it was very cold and dry and the other guy behind the counter (who seemed to be the new manager) started questioning the girl who was serving me about what she gave me. She explained that she took it from the display for me and he started yelling at her right in front of all the customers that she was supposed to get a new fresh one from the back and heat it up for me BEFORE serving it to me... He even slightly joked about how it would be terrible to serve me one of the display items that had been sitting out all day... She apologized and they said they would take mine back and make me a new one. I started to hand it back to them but they realized I had bitten into it (like I said) and said that it was okay, they would just make me a new one. I let my friends finish the rest of my cold hard bagel bite and awaited my order. I soon payed and received my bagel sandwich... but never the new bagel bite that I was promised. I waited a few more minutes then I walked up to the male employee that announced the problem and promised the new food and I asked him if he was still making me a new one... He said, "But I only charged you for one...?" I was extremely taken aback by this so I only said "oh, ok..." back to him but now I wish I had said something more.... what a RUDE guy!!!! His nametag said Chris, and I hope his ways are changed soon or einsteins chooses better management for the Palm Harbor location... If I go back there and he is not there anymore my rating will DEFINITELY change, I...

5/3/25: UPDATE: I contacted customer service, and they were quick to respond to my concerns. They not only put the cost of the poorly made drink into my account, but they doubled the cost and then some! I'm looking forward to returning to this location to try the chai tea latte again - and a bagel with cream cheese! I'm hoping both are delicious!

5/2/2 5 Original review: I met my girlfriend here for a drink. I usually go to Starbucks. I ordered a large chai tea latte. I was going to ask for almond milk. But NOT for $1.10 extra. I got it 20 minutes later. After I asked for it.

It was cold inside, and my friend wanted to sit outside. Both areas were adequate. But a gentleman was outside, proselytizing to a young man. He was loud enough that I did NOT want to listen.

My friend enjoyed her bagel & cream cheese. But my large chai tea latte should NOT have been served. It had sludge on the top so I mixed it up. Then it was on the bottom. It tasted grainy, and the sludge was undrinkable. I took it to the cashier who referred me to the manager standing nearby, listening. Supposedly the machine was broken and steamed milk was burned. I threw it out. What else could I do?!?!? It should never have been served. I should have been offered a replacement drink or a credit. Totally...

Unfortunately things have gone downhill at this location. Maybe it is the staffing issues related to the pandemic maybe not. I They were out of the chocolate chip coffee cakes that they’ve always had for years. The vanilla hazelnut coffee was empty and it took three different patrons asking for the coffee to be refilled before it was done. The tables all had crumbs and food on them —surprisingly dirty. The coffee counter had all the dried coffee and sugar all over it. After the short rush was over no one wiped down the counters or the tables. I saw two employees get drinks for themselves from the soda machine which is not a big deal, but no one cleaned up the coffee counter or wiped down the tables -the place is a mess. I spent $17.51. The nova lox has less fish, less cream cheese, and less tomato, and less onions than it did a couple years ago. I used to love coming here, but I will not be back. Bummer. The staff were all...
