Creme de la Cocoa is definitely a hidden treasure located in St. Augustine. I was searching for a local bakery that can make our wedding cake for our reception and as I was googling I stumbled upon this magical place! I inquire in regards about scheduling a cake tasting and they responded quick and answered all my questions. They are conveniently located on the other side of St. Augustine but don't worry they are not far from downtown St. Augustine, I love the fact that they are on the other side because they have enough space for parking and i do not have to fight for my spot unless they are super busy. As we walk inside, our jaw dropped. the presentation of all the goodies they offer was well planned. On the right corner they have this very cute area where you can buy other goodies (cards, birthday cards, candles, towels and many other things). I feel like I was a kid in Disney world when I entered Creme de la coca. I was happy and I just want to try everything! They have chocolate croissants, sticky buns, different cookies, cakes , chocolate, marshmallows, ice cream and many more! As per our cake tasting we ordered 6 flavors: German chocolate cake, Florida Native, Strawberry Shortcake, Caramel Crunch, Peanut butter and Tiramisu. Ya'll I planned on getting 2 tier cake but after trying all the flavors I want to change it to 5 tier LOL . all the cakes was moist and full of flavors and you can actually taste the ingredients that they put. Surprisingly, my favorite was Florida Native, it's a yellow cake with zested orange buttercream, strawberry puree and it has key lime pie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I tried it I knew that was the one! I can write a 10 page review on our experience at Creme de la Cocoa but all I can say is Chef Nills and his employee made us realized we wanted to get our desserts here. Everything was perfect and Chef Nills made sure that he delivers what his customer wants. I rave about this place and we are now a loyal customer to this...
Read moreMy husband and I got married on 2/12/22. We had originally chose another baker to do our wedding desserts but after tasting, decided we weren’t so impressed. Crème is just down the road from our house and we pass it all the time, always saying how we want to stop and try sweets as we both have a big sweet tooth! We decided they would be perfect for our wedding, as we stalked their social media pages and saw the amazing creations and delicious treats they served. We were so RIGHT! From the beginning, talking with Bailey and Brooke, and being a little last minute in booking, we had such a wonderful experience. Both of them were so helpful in giving us options and piecing together exactly what we wanted for our wedding. Pricing was fair in my opinion but I’d pay anything knowing how DELICIOUS their treats are. We went with peanut butter and chocolate cake for our “wedding cake.” We did sheet cakes (love this idea!!) of chocolate and red velvet. We also did cookies and cookie sandwiches, which I think were being eaten by guests even before dinner, haha! We just cannot say enough great things! The cookies and cookie sandwiches were devoured. The cake was moist and melted in your mouth, and I even had guests and family who aren’t huge fans of cake say it was THE BEST cake they’ve ever had. We thankfully had some leftovers of cake which we are so happy about because it just tastes better and better every time. Thank you Creme de la Cocoa for providing excellent service and even better desserts, you helped make our wedding...
Read moreThese people are incredible! We asked them to give us the moon with very little notice. They took on the project, had it ready right on time, all this with a positive can do attitude. Now to the results; I did not handle the order but, had been given some idea as to what size the cake would be. I'm a little aged, but pretty capable. They handed me a cake, that I now wish I had weighed. I think it was about twelve pounds. So, when this very petite lady handed it to me I fumbled a second not quite ready for that. (She offered to help me out with it.) When it was time to cut the cake, I realized it was about ten inches tall and wouldn't possibly fit the small little cake plates we had obtained. It worked out that we had more than enough larger plates still available. This cake was a multitude of layers like I've never seen. It was chocolate layered with what seemed to be chocolate mousse and salted caramel. They finished it in a white butter cream frosting with a wee bit of gold flake on top. Very simple, yet elegant. I am a huge dessert guy. There are very few out there that I haven't or wouldn't try. I love, creme brulee, cheesecake, etc. Folks this is, BAR NONE, the best dessert I've ever had in (nearly) sixty years. Kind of funny, I usually refuse cake that's offered as I don't care for the dry, freshly thawed and frosted with lard grocery store cake. I wish these amazing bakers all possible success. Stop in and try one of their miniature individual size versions. You...
