Taco Libre looked like a little hole in the wall from the hotel parking lot but we were looking for a good neighborhood eating establishment. To our surprise, we walked into taco Libre and the place was packed! The restaurant was hosting some kind of group game and there were a lot of participants that had big smiles on their faces.

The best part though because we’re outside people the extensive outdoor seating!!! And no one was there! We enjoyed lots of free space and as we ordered our drinks, we noticed the vast of choices. Between the great margaritas and the fresh breeze we all agreed so far so good!

Our waiter was delightful young man from Venezuela. Was a joy to communicate with, and we enjoyed our conversation with him. He was genuinely helpful with a variety of questions.

The menu was really cleverly laid out and a good price with lots of choices. As we began looking around, people were there with a dog, some playing pool at the pool table and it looked like some kind of band plays on a stage in this very large outdoor space.

I hesitate to recommend this place because I like it so much and there were no crowds outside, but there you go. The staff was very courteous and friendly, and I...

First dinner while visiting St Augustine. You know it's not good when your teenage kids don't want to eat take out and eat pop tarts instead. I feel bad, I do..but their food was terrible. 430 on Sunday afternoon and ordered in after getting to our Airbnb. It was ready really quick, 10 minutes. But, when I arrived to pick it up , 5 workers bombarded me like they were fighting over who's customer I was going to be. Nice, yes...but odd bc there was NO ONE was in the huge restaurant!! First sign. Got home, the food was not everything we ordered first, 2nd extremely cold..like it was in the fridge, it sadly had no flavor at all...all 3 of us agreed. Four , it was fatty and the meat texture was really really odd...?!?! Five, idk, maybe a basil or bay leaf but, there was a whole 2 inch leaf in my daughter's taco. Odd again? All in all, I would call the manager but, instead I am warning others. I probably should call.. maybe I just got unlucky. I hate and have never given a bad review. The people were really really nice but the food was a waste of money and a bad first experience in St Augustine....

The A/C was out again!! Our server Christian was vey attentive , the air has been out a week. I understand that trying to get things fixed in these times is trying. We still decided to have our meal there anyway.. I was very hot , the so called manager came to my table and told me not to bend the menu. I told her that if the a/ c worked I wouldn’t have to fan myself! She did end up bringing me a magazine vs the menu to fan myself! I thought it was very rude the way she presented herself, she didn’t even say she was the manager and condemned me for bending the menu! Mind you… This is a day in st Augustine that was 103 degrees! Christian has most always waited on us and is awesome!! We visit this restaurant weekly, we spend our hard earned dollars there at least once a week! This behavior from so called management is unacceptable! And by the way, because we told the so called manager, who conveniently was the managers wife, how rude she was , we are now banned from this restaurant. Unfortunately the manager/s need to get schooled on their...

What a great little find in St. Augustine! Friendly staff, efficient service, great food and margaritas - all at an extremely affordable price! My wife had a delicious salad with grilled chicken and I had four tacos which were all great. Everything , including the chips, salsa and tortillas are made on premise and excellent. In ranked order of preference, I loved the: 1) Fiery Fish taco - crisp fish nuggets balanced with red cabbage and packed with flavor; 2) Surf and Turf taco- the beef is the winner of the two here. The marinated flavor combine with fresh crunch of vegetables and creamy avocado are incredible; 3) 'Shroom taco - loved every bite! and 4) Taco Fresco - still good but not as much "wow" as the other three. The homemade soft taco shells are strong enough to hold everything in yet soft to make it enjoyable. Our server was amazing in her recommendations! Should have asked her for them right at the start of the meal! Next time: I need to try the Mexican corn tacos!

I had a hankering for tacos and suggested this place (it happened to be practically across the street from where my wife and I were). I had the Goberandor, Camaron, and Mr. Potato tacos and was thoroughly impressed with each. My wife had chorizo burrito which was also great. I had wanted to try the Tinga taco instead of Mr. Potato, but the description seemed to be cut off due to a misprint of the menu ("Shredded Chicken cooked in a chipotle sauce with,"...with what?) and the server wasn't familiar enough with that dish. Neither did I get my drink refilled until another, much more attentive server noticed my glass with only ice. There was a trivia event (apparently every Wednesday) that added a level of fun (with a little extra noise) to the Mexican wrestling-themed atmosphere. Summary: The service we received left something to be desired, but the food is definitely worth visiting again, and the atmosphere is unique and fun.
