I have never written a review like this, but however, after the way we were treated today at Crabby Steve’s, I felt I needed to say something.

If I could give zero stars I would.

The restaurant seating host who I assume was “Crabby Steve” asked my wife and me if we would like to be seated. We said yes, thank you. The entire left side of the restaurant was open with tables also overlooking the ocean. He tried to direct us to the back right corner with no view.

We asked if we could please be seated at a table with a view of the ocean. There was also nobody sitting on that side of the restaurant so no problem social distancing.

He said no that was a hightop table for 5 and we couldn’t sit there in case someone happened to show up. If there were a ton of customers waiting I could understand but there was no one in line. No one even around. A storm had blown through earlier and the place was dead. Also, there’s barely enough room for 2. This “5 top” is very small. We mentioned we had sat at that same table a couple of days before. He said well you’re not going to sit there today.

I politely said, well I guess we will go somewhere else. He said, good, go right ahead.

Whoever thought of this business model is business ignorant. Needless to say, beware of Crabby Steve’s, unless you are prepared to be disappointed, talked down to, and not valued as a customer. There are too many other restaurants nearby with excellent service to waste time on...

We have came to this place numerous times over the years but I have to leave a bad score today.... Crabby Steve and at least some of his employees are CRABBY. Actually just plain ole rude!! It was a busy day and there was a line. No hostess so you were just on your own to figure it out. One employee said if you were just ordering a drink to go to stand in the bar line. We did that and then Crabby Steve literally barked at us over everyone and told us to get back in line. We did. Everyone in line kept talking about the confusion of what to do. People kept passing us all up in line and going up to the bar. 15-20 minutes later our line had not changed. We finally got tired of everyone passing us in line and went to the bar to order. Two ladies had walked up while my wife was already standing in line and immediately ordered two frozen drinks. My wife just left. I stayed and 5 minutes later the bartender finally asked what I wanted. I placed my order and she said no more frozen drinks. She was not friendly and very abrupt. Crabby had left the bar to do something else. I'm sure she was just taking after him. In short VERY POOR SERVICE. Last time we will visit Crabby. It's really not that good. Just convenient since it's the only spot...

🌅🍹 A Hidden Gem on the Beach – Crabby Steve’s is a Must-Visit!

Crabby Steve’s Bar and Grill is the kind of place you stumble upon once and keep coming back to for life. Locally owned and operated, this laid-back beachfront spot offers some of the best vibes on the Gulf Coast.

The staff is outstanding—genuinely friendly, welcoming, and quick to make you feel like a regular, even on your first visit. The cocktails are ice-cold, expertly mixed, and perfect for sipping with your toes in the sand and the sun setting on the horizon.

The menu is exactly what you want in a beachside bar: delicious sandwiches, fresh wraps, tasty seafood baskets, and craveable finger foods that hit the spot after a day in the sun. Nothing fancy—just really good food, made right.

But what really sets Crabby Steve’s apart? The unbeatable views. You’ll get the best sunsets in town, framed by ocean breezes and that relaxed, coastal energy that makes you never want to leave.

Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite, unwinding with friends, or just chasing that perfect beach day, Crabby Steve’s delivers every time. Don’t miss this...

True Rating- 3.3/5 Stars Solid for a beach bar. The food was pretty good. Service was great and pretty quick. There is not much seating, and nothing indoors, but again - beach bar. I had the blackened grouper sandwich, and it was great. So were the sweet potato fries. Others in my party had the Jerk chicken sandwich and the chicken tenders. As far as I heard, only the chicken tenders weren't good. Their cocktail also had way too much salt. Facilities were typical beach bar. Not too much to write home about. I do not know if there were any bathrooms. Biggest knock against the place is it is only accessible via the beach. Cost was a bit pricey for my blood - but that's okay. It was good so no complaints. NOTE: Star rating based on my own formula consisting of flavor, cost, facilities, service, and overall satisfaction. Reviews are subject to change based on future visits.

The food was decent. It wasn’t anything to shout about and I found it a little pricey for a grilled sandwich with standard, crinkle cut fries. The bartender and wait staff were friendly, but I have to agree with many of the reviewers who say the drink pours are quite light. Thankfully, I didn’t find them outrageously priced, so I’m not that bothered by it. They do, however, have a selection of local craft and domestic beers. I would return, but I do wish they had a fried fish on the menu. If you’re staying at High Pointe, it’s worth a trip for a quick lunch when you need a break from the beach.
