The Hidden Lantern Bookstore — Local services in Alys Beach

GREAT little bookstore. It’s hard to make everyone happy with a small bookstore because people’s tastes are so different, especially where it comes to books, but this shop does a great job of having a little something for everyone. It has a great little gift section as you come into the door that has journals and reading glasses and a few odds and ends. There’s a small room off to the side with games, puzzles, art supplies, and I think, a few toys for kids if I remember correctly. There’s a broad selection of sections with a wisely chosen few books in each one. They have a GREAT selection of collector type/gift quality books with beautiful covers. This is a gem of a bookstore. Its very small,but cozy,has inviting couches and chairs and makes it very inviting amd easy to spend a few hours getting lost in a good boom. When i got there they had a " blind date" with a book where they packed up mystery books you could buy blind and read to see if you liked it. What a clever idea for Valentines day. They also have authors come and do book signings and the times and Author is advertised on a billboard outside. I highly recommend this store if you enjoy reading. Nice looking store with a cool selection, but that is where the positives end. Like pretty much every other store at Rosemary Beach, the people working were rude. They did not greet us at all, but did follow my wife and I around the store just in the off chance that we were stealing. My wife would have bought a couple items, but the staff really put us off and she didn’t want to spend her money there.
