The thing about Dickey's is that it is a franchise. It seems like everything is down to a science. A process. I personally think that bbq'ing is an art, so the concept of Dickie's is, you know, hard to swallow. Dickey's has fast service, convenient location and competitive prices (at least this location). So, they are the fast food of bbq. Does the bbq industry need a fast food representation? I don't think so. But, they're here, they're near, get used to it. Prices are fair. Based on the portions, and quality of the product. Again, I'm not sure how much more they could ask, if every time you order an item, the "pit master" (more on this later) spends half the time unwrapping the meat from the plastic wrap, and weighting the portion before serving it. It's just too procedural. Too by the book. Dare I say, insipid? Same applies to the sides. If something is running low, just get a bag from the warmer, cut it open and pour. Again, referring to the process, not the taste. The only item made fresh are the fries. Because, well, fries. But I'm sure the second they figure out how to portion orders and keep in the warmer, out with the frier they will. The food is portioned/served by the shift's "pit master". At this particular location it will be a young man/lady, in their early/mid 20's that probably earned their certification after taking a class (online or maybe at Dickey's worldwide headquarters, wherever that may be). I imagine the course(s?) is hard and takes a lot of studying to pass. But should we be calling them pit masters? Should anyone? My understanding is that it takes time and experience to earn the title, but I'm no expert, just an observer, and humble reviewer. In summary, as previously stated, Dickey's is the fast food of bbq. Like tofu, this will mean whatever...
Read morePlaced an online order here last night only to arrive and find that it wasn't ready nor did they have half of the stuff we ordered. They claimed their machine for receiving online orders was down and asked my wife what we ordered. We did the 2 for $22 because we thought it was going to be a good deal. She ordered pulled pork and polish sausage with okra and baked potato casserole and paid extra for the corn bread muffin which was the first thing they were "out of" i wanted the Turkey and SLICED Brisket with mac and cheese and baked potato casserole. They claimed that they were out of turkey and chicken as well and asked if they could replace it with something else so i got pulled pork. Getting a bit upset at this point because it was only 6:30pm at a business that is supposed to be open until 10pm. When i said i wanted mac and cheese they said they only had enough left for one serving which had just been ordered as we walked in for a kids meal. But they took it from the kids meal and gave it to us since we placed and online order almost 30 minutes ago by this point. Anyway i ended up with pulled pork and for some reason chopped brisket, mac and potatoes then had to wait for them to get everything together. They never offered to do anything about the inconveniences and the whole time the female worker on duty at the time was eating while making our order. Not only is that unsanitary but maybe if their employees weren't eating the food while they were making orders they wouldn't run out of everything 4 hours before closing. Highly disappointed with our experience here and would caution anyone looking for even halfway decent service to...
Read moreThis developer seems that the owner just wants all the good reviews. Secondly, I will let you know Being at the gym on 2 different occasions. We have seen your young kids doing fire crackers and fireworks at the front of the building.. The first time the owner was given a cordial call. The second time we went straight up to the publix management. And they were notified you had at least one notification of what was going on. The sad part is you tolerate this behavior. And you make everybody else have to tolerate it and everybody else at risk because of the immaturity of your staff and your unwillingness to take action. And then you wonder why your comments of service being bad ,a food Not being that great and even one of them eating behind the counter. I can tell you that's not the first time that someone has seen your staff eating behind the counter. That's actually a health code violation. Not that we will ever eat in your place again because of the disgusting habits of your immature staff. But the lack of management that you have shown as an owner, In allowing even one time of the behavior of what has been going on outside. And allowing your staff to eat behind their fingers. In these circumstances you put everybody at risk. And you have continued to tolerate the staff doing it and allow them to continue to work there. Just so that you know by law comma if anything does into happening You are responsible because you knew and you kept tolerationg it. I will use this written review as evidence...
