“Great food overshadowed by myraid of sanitation issues!”
I heard a lot about this restaurant before my husband and I decided to eat there. We went there for breakfast.
The restaurant is small and there were a line of people waiting to be seated. It was raining and to wait outside it was not good.
Anyway, we were seated by the kitchen's window and what we saw was quite disturbing. The AC vents on the ceiling and the adjacent ceiling tiles were covered with mold. What ever you do, do NOT look up while you are eating! The man who was acting like a manager (I don't know if he is the owner or just a manager) was getting the food from the kitchen passthru window. The only problem with that was that he was screaming to the cooks over the food and you could see the saliva coming out of his mouth and falling on the plates of food coming from the kitchen. There were two people cooking that we could see from where we were sitting. One of them, a man cooking and handling the food without gloves was scratching his scalp/hair and touching the food. It's just nasty.
We were watching our food closely because if it was handling by this man with no proper hygiene and clothes (he had no net on his hair) while cooking for others at a restaurant and placed at this window where the manager was screaming and saliva pouring out of his mouth, we wouldn't eat there. We saw the other cook, a woman WITH proper clothes and accessories giving our food to our waitress.
We were really disappointed because the food is very delicious with good prices but everything else needs improvement. The place needs to be updated, clean, more organized and have the customers health taken in consideration because we saw a lot of little kids there with their parents, around that mold. I found a 2 inch hair in the burrito. I called as soon as I seen it and the waitress was super unprofessional. Didn’t even offer an apology told me the manager and the supervisor wasn’t there and to call back the next morning. Next morning I called back I was told sorry can’t do nothing call back at to and speak to supervisor. Called back at 2. Welp surprise she left for the day. Gave my contact information and asked for them not call me back. Today was day 3 so I call and got the manager which he started yelling at me telling me that he won’t refund or remake the burrito. Which okay that’s fine it was a $12 burrito I’m not gonna cry about $12 and I even told him I just wanted a simple apology for the bad service and to hear my complaint that was it but no he hung up on me 3 times. I work for Geico and I will be telling all my friends, family and everyone of the bad service and terrible treatment that I received from the owner as he said he was! Read moreAfter my visit today, I am extremely disappointed. Currently we are regulars and come in at least once a week if not twice. But I guess today they decided that $10.50 was worth loosing our service. Today we came in an hour before close and it was crazy busy. We sat down knowing we would be out before they closed which we were but it’s like us coming in annoyed them. Our server did not seem to care to check in on us. I had a hair in my food and I had to approach her to tell her. They remade it for me but it did not not taste very good (this is the same thing I always get). The server never came back to see if it was ok or check on us at all after that. The manager dropped off the bill and I assumed that we would be compensated for having a hair in my food but nope. Went to pay up front and the server checked us out and never asked how anything was. Honestly I am just flabbergasted with the service we got overall today.
