Clean, Good food, Good service
We were looking for something we hadn't tried before, and Dragon Court had been on that list for a while. We went on a Sunday around 1pm and literally had the place to ourselves. I was immediately impressed by the cleanliness of the dining room, and the aquariums - a pet peeve of mine being poorly-kept aquariums in restaurants.
In typical Chinese restaurant fashion, we were seated and served a bowl of fried crisps and dipping sauces. These were some kind of cracker, like matzo. They weren't bad, but this wasn't my optimal snack. I only ate one piece before I decided to wait for the appetizer.
Fortunately, the appetizer did impress. Crab Rangoon with a filling that tasted very fresh. Same wrapper as the crisps previously described, but the filling made up for that.
Delivered in very quick order were our dinners, which were outstanding. I had Sesame Chicken, a stock dish in most places, usually it's heavily battered chicken nuggets deep fried until they're crunchy, doused in a sauce that is re-purposed for a number of dishes by adding other ingredients. Not the case at Dragon Court, and I'm honestly surprised that this wasn't marked as a house specialty. The chicken served was not the typical compressed processed meat chunks, it was delicious pieces which appeared to be hand-cut and fried to actually cook them, not to render them immortal. This chicken was delicious and tender. The sauce was also everything you could hope for, deliciously sweet with the flavor of toasted sesame seeds. Steamed broccoli and white rice complimented this dish nicely. The amount served was easily enough to serve two people who would want a large portion. I took more than half home.
The Mrs. had Dragon Court's Sizzling platter, imitation crab, shrimp, scallops, chicken and roast pork stir fried with Chinese vegetables in a brown sauce/gravy served on a hot sizzling platter. This was tasty, but not my favorite, nothing wrong with it, but the sauce just didn't wind my crank like the sesame did. This was also served with white rice, and in an amount certainly enough for two, and possibly three people.
Overall, this place is pretty good. Considering the amount of food you're being served, I'd say the prices are very competitive. I will eat here again, and I will recommend...
Read moreI had not come here in 23 months bc last time was awful but yo if by o was pretty hungry thinking maybe this time it’s good? Nope!! I ordered Seafood Specifically seafood of ‘Jumbo shrimp , crab meat and scallops ‘. All the seafood was small …and had some kind of rancid flavor.. I pray to God o don’t get salmonella 😡🥺😭😭. NO JUMBO shrimp but mere small to medium size and only 3. Menu truly WAS deceptive . Plus my meal was stuffed with 10 huge broccoli. chunks . And worse of all long pieces of Pickled corn! I counted 10.. 4-6 inch pieces of corn. This was $20.00 meal plus tax! I asked Justin my waiter to intervene and he didn’t do a thing but say “sorry”! Now I $21.00 for mostly all broccoli and pickled corn . My neighbor Celeste told me way back Jan 2022 … “ do not ever eat at Dragon Court”! I’m a stubborn one but tonight ABSOLUTELY convinced me to never come in this shabby DIRTY place ! They keep all lights very low so you do not seen how shabby and carpeting worn out like a very run down looking motel would present . Fish tank was about the only thing not dreary shabby looking. I feel foolish o came in here.Terrible ‘chef’ trying cut corners bc UPS next door told me they’re moving out dt rent going up January 1, ‘25. Do what’s FAIR to customer! Menu says JUMBO shrimp … thsn honor what you print! I work hard for my $ as well ! SORRY I walked through the front door. Everything tasteless! Nasty broken USED looking Chinese noodle aren’t very appetizing that always serve before entrée arrives. When I told Waiter Justin that it’s wrong to fill my meal up w pickled corn… he replied, “ oh good I’ll know for NeXT...
Read moreCalled to order orange beef, crab Rangoon, and an egg roll for my wife and I to split. I asked over the phone if the order would be enough for 2 adults to share and was told, “Yeah you should be fine,”
I paid $24 for this meal after tip and was very disappointed. Even though it tasted good, there was VERY little orange beef in the container (nobody could ever say with a straight face that this was enough food for 2 adults), the vegetable egg roll was the most disappointing egg roll I’ve ever had. It was was soggy, small and had no flavor, and the only reason my review is 2 star and not 1 is because the crab Rangoons were decent and the order was a reasonable size.
Dissatisfied w/ portion size and taste over multiple items. Will not be going back. I would have been better off going next door to Publix and getting...
