I’d love nothing more than to give this place five stars but I just can’t bring myself to do it. It’s not fair to all the other well-rounded eateries out there. The decor is fresh and clean, we were pleasantly surprised. The menu was diverse and offered plenty to choose from, in fact it has us waffling between a couple of no-lose options. Food came out pretty quick and tasted good. So what’s the rub? The service. Sadly, our server was quite good, she was friendly and attentive. The issue we had was some of the other staff. We were seated near the kitchen, but I’m not sure it mattered, a couple of servers were in a heated dispute nearly our entire visit. They continually yelling at each other every time they would disappear to the kitchen. Things being slammed around and at one point they were so wound up we were waiting for a fist fight to break out. Beyond that, the bad attitude carried itself out to the floor as they were openly criticizing and complaining about guests when leaving the other tables and walking around the front of house. I get it, some patrons are jerks. I don’t know the details, but that comes with the territory. Disappointing that these servers didn’t have the self awareness to realize their behavior was unprofessional. Even worse that their co-workers didn’t try and deescalate the situation over the 35+ minutes they continued to carry on. Inexcusable that the management didn’t immediately put an end to it. Heck, for all we know it might have been management that was carrying on. Regardless, ownership should take note, as it seems the common thread to anything other then glowing 5 star reviews ties back to your people issues. I always endeavor to find and support small, local businesses over large national chains of homogenized blandness. Today, entirely at random, I found this place and decided to give it a chance.

It was packed at lunchtime but as I put my name on the waiting list spotted a bunch of ladies in the waiting area. It was convenient and not creepy to observe to one sitting close that the place must be good for having a crowd waiting. She agreed and told me everything was good, especially the salads. Friendly customers = good thing.

After a short wait, I was given a table and a friendly waitress appeared immediately with my drink order.

The menu was abundant, offered a wide array of breakfast and lunch options, and I opted for a cheeseburger as a benchmark test.

While I waited, I read the reviews posted here and wondered what a couple of them were thinking in making claims like it was dark and dirty. Neither could be farther from the truth.

My food arrived quickly, the burger was appealing and delicious with a generous amount of fresh onions, tomatoes and Romaine lettuce. The fries were exceptional.

After, I asked my waitress if she knew of Yelp and she not only did but was also mystified about the review from the dark and dirty lady who she said knew the lady who gave that review, adding she had been in multiple times and on one occasion had complained that the Chorizo in her omelette was not in fact Chorizo which it really was.

My waitress was especially in touch with Yelp and could not have been nicer.

Make this a spot to become a regular, and you may spot me here, as that is what I am going to do.

We were told to seat ourselves anywhere we liked, that would have been OK but we had to first try to find a clean table. the hostess/server wasn't a bit busy either. She Could have and should have grabbed a Menu cleaned off a table and took our drink order But we seated ourselves, and waited for our drink order, and waited.. still no drink or food order either..A couple came and left. I guess their patience ran out. A man came in, he kept looking around wondering when he was going to get waited on too.. Then a man came in to place a go order And got waited on right away, by then we had enough and left.. That never ever happened when the previous owners had it... The servers were on top of everything...I would suggest either Katies cafe, just a little West, or Quarter Cup just a little East. It's going to be difficult for us to return when there are soooo many other local places willing to take your $$ with friendly and prompt service... 2 Star review on this Day was generous. Oh I forgot to mention, while we were waiting to be served, two workers were in ther back complaining about something with each other, maybe it was because the person that told us to seat ourselves wasn't doing her job, so they were trying to force her to do it, none the lsss, no one will be worried about it because there will be no...
