Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers — Restaurant in Florida

Having been a very disappointed Red Robin fan of late we have been looking for something different and an enjoyable experience. We found what we were looking for today.

Overall the place was clean and organized. It was slightly rough around the edges but they were quite busy. Bathrooms were fairly clean, and well stocked.

You place your order at one counter and pick up at a different counter. It was very efficient and only took a short while to receive our freshly cooked food.

While waiting I was impressed to notice the photographs of the founding history of the company. That history being grounded in a WW2 soldier is priceless. It was worth checking out the photos while waiting for our food.

Our order of custards were put on hold until we requested them after we ate. I had the chocolate brownie and it had too much chocolate... if that is possible?

Management was very much engaged in all areas helping fellow employees.

My jalapeño burger was quite possibly the best of its type I ever had in a fast food restaurant. I had it without the sauce and added ketchup. It was loaded with potent peppers. Finally a burger with an abundance of SPICY peppers.

My spouse had a patty melt. She was disappointed because it was so dry. It had nothing on it except a few small pieces of onion, and some cheese. The size of the burger verses the size of the patty left large portions of nothing but bread. Maybe that is why it was so dry? I am not even sure if we needed to ask for other toppings? Selecting any toppings was a question that did not come up in the ordering process.

Because of the out of stock ketchup, (other than 2 very sticky packets left on counter) a slightly untidy restroom and a dry patty melt... a 4 star review.

This is now one of my favorite places. If you haven't tried fried cheese curds, this is a good spot to start. Hot and fresh vs driving home for 20 minutes will change them a bit so try some when they are hot. I do recommend that if you watch your salt that you avoid most things you can't ask for no seasoning on. If you just ask for no salt they may still put on some seasoning which of course is very salty lol. Found this out after a couple very salty burgers after asking for no added salt. I usually get a burger with mustard, onion, lettuce and tomato. It does not taste salty. May not be super heart healthy but honestly it tastes pretty low sodium compared to normal. Everything usually goes fine when we go through drive though. Tonight they had some kind of communication issue and said they were out of vanilla ice cream for our concrete mixer thing. They said we could get it in chocolate. I said I didn't really want that but that we'd try it I guess. They said they'd just remove them from the order and give us them in chocolate anyway. I figured I'd be happy to try it and like 7 minutes later in the drive through they finally gave us the mixer and it was vanilla. We were kinda sketched out about the whole thing. Ate it but I feel like I should have asked...

This was my first time at Freddie’s. My server was named Sadeez. She was extremely welcoming, friendly, and really seemed to to take pride in and enjoy her job. She was knowledgeable in the menu items and just made the simple experience of ordering food that much more enjoyable. Her manager Robyn approached me and asked me if I would mind writing a review about my experience in her establishment, which I of course had no problem doing. She also offered me a free meal just for my time. I must say that I have worked in this industry in my younger years, and understand the frustrations that come in dealing with customers, especially overtly rude and unfriendly ones. I really hope these establishments understand valuable employees when they see them. Simple things like a friendly smile, and small talk conversation can go a very long way in making someone’s day that just wanted a delicious meal after such a long work day. Sadeez and Robyn far excited that expectation and I hope their entire team gets the recognition that they deserve for the quality work, delicious food, and clean establishment that they clearly take so much pride in...
