I will start this review by stating that the grand majority of my experiences at this establishment have been generally positive. The food is good and the service is usually somewhere between standard and good. However, tonight (9/29/2017) I had a little bit of an eyebrow raising experience with whoever the manager on duty was. I walked in and ordered my food as usual but tonight I explained that I wanted to place two separate orders, both of them to go. The cashier was very friendly and accommodating and after I finished placing and paying for my first order he handed me my buzzer and informed me that he would also put my second order on the same buzzer. I proceeded to place and pay for my second order. I waited on the food until the buzzer went off and grabbed my food from the counter and returned the buzzer. My food came in a large plastic bag containing two styrofoam to go boxes with a large paper bag stacked on top of it holding my chips and queso. It appeared to be enough food that I didn't think twice about double checking to make sure something wasn't missing. That doesn't seem to be too outrageous of a thought, but maybe I am just foolish.
Anyways, I realized when I got home (about 15 min away) that two of my tacos (from the second order) were missing. I had both receipts and decided to call and ask for a refund. I wasn't at all upset or exasperated with the person who answered the phone, they were friendly and told me they would gladly refund me for the two tacos (they would be cold by the time I drove back). They asked me to hold while they grabbed a manager for me. The manager picked up the phone and he asked me what he can do for me. I began to explain what happened, and he interrupted me saying "you're the guy who forgot your food" and I explained "well not exactly, it just wasn't in the bag with the rest of my order." He quickly snapped back with "well you placed two separate orders which is why we gave you two separate pagers and you left without your second one." I explained to him that I was explicitly told both orders would be on the same buzzer. He didn't acknowledge my response and instead said in an aggravated tone "well it doesn't matter anyways because I just voided your order" and then he hung up. It's just disheartening when lower level employees provide a quality customer experience while the manager is talking to the customer condescendingly and is making the assumption that the customer was the one who was wrong. I wasn't even accusatory when asking for a refund, and even if it had been entirely my fault, a manager shouldn't assume the customer is at fault and speak to them in such a way.
For the most part this Fuzzy's is great, but I might consider reevaluating who is in a position of management if your manager is going to take such a harsh tone with customers, especially if they aren't even complaining rudely or...
Read moreOnce again, a restaurant that my co-workers wanted to go to instead of my own recommendation. And once again...a solid "Meh." Starting to believe that they truly lack any form of taste buds.
I don't think I'd ever want to have a fuzzy taco...so the name of the taco shop is a little strange. However, the restaurant itself is covered in bright colors and fun decor. Everything was very clean, even with the restaurant being so busy. I give them kudos for that, and for the restaurant being a locally owned franchise.
We went on National Taco Day, so of course it was fairly packed. I was able to snag us two tables to put together for our larger group of six. it took close to 10 minutes to actually order, but that is reasonable considering how busy they were. I was delighted to see that they had a full bar--but not so delighted that it was still lunchtime on a work day and drinking was out of the question.
I ordered a Spicy Pork Taco and a Beef Fajita Taco. The tacos were prepared in a timely manner, and were surprisingly LOADED with ingredients! I was glad ot have only ordered two instead of three--Fuzzy's is very generous with their portions!
Now I've had a lot of tacos in my lifetime. And I've NEVER heard of someone putting feta cheese on a "Mexican" taco. Why not use traditional crumbling cheese, also known as queso fresco? The tacos were a jumble of flavors and ended up being quite bland instead of bursting with spices and flavor. It seems like someone tried to do Tex-Mex but overthought everything.
I don't think I'll be visiting Fuzzy's Taco Shop again. I can find more authentic Mexican food and...
Read moreWe’ve never been here before and wanted to try it. It has a bar atmosphere, but not intrusive to where a family cannot be around. When we entered, we’ve never been there before so the girl behind the counter was on her cell phone texting away. Which I don’t understand why people take a job and then do their personal stuff. We told the employee we had never been in before. I would’ve thought that would’ve been a great time for that employee to suggest what the favorites are instead of shrugging your shoulders. We ordered the typical tacos rice with lime and cilantro, refried beans, and chips with salsa. We ordered two iced teas, and we told the people at the bar there was no iced tea in the containers and the entire 35 minutes we were there nobody ever came and filled it up. The tacos were good and the sauce they put on it I liked they had a good flavor nice size and the rice was good. My husband liked the refried beans and his taco of choice that he picked. We were in a dinner and it was steady, but not crowded and if you’ve never been there before you really have to figure out what’s going on where to drop your trays in the bin and your garbage it’s right at the front door we didn’t notice it coming in, but there is a huge lack of communication When you ask questions to any of the staff .
Next time I go, I’ll probably order...
