Kuro Sushi — Restaurant in Sarasota

We dined here during the soft opening and the food was DELICIOUS. It's been 2 days and I am still thinking about the food.

DRINKS I had the Juri cocktail and it was great. It's been awhile since I've experienced a unique and tasty drink and this drink was all around very good. Husband ordered sake and also enjoyed his drink.

COLD PLATES Tuna Crudo - the quality of this dish was SO GOOD. As someone who's always looking for good sushi and quality sashimi and sushi around Sarasota, I am so glad I ordered this dish. Fish was buttery, texture was perfect, and the way it was plated with ponzu and crispy leeks - 10/10

ROBATA GRILL Pork Belly - guys, it's been so long since I've had really good Asian food in this area and when I tell you to order this - do it. This dish comes in 2 small skewers of pork belly and a ton of flavor. If you don't like flavor, you won't like this place. 10/10

MAKI ROLLS We ordered 2 rolls: Shichi - I am a fan of yellowtail and Kuro Sushi didn't let me down. The quality, the cuts of fish, and the pairing of flavors (miso, wasabi, more raw tuna on the inside, crispy greens) was SO GOOD. 10/10 Kyuu - husband chose this roll which contained Unagi (eel), cucumber, spicy tuna, and black tobiko. This was also very good! I still preferred the Shichi roll as I find Unagi a bit overwhelming but this restaurant did amazing with the pairing of flavors flavors.

I think my husband and I finally have a go-to spot for date nights and we look forward to Kuro Sushi's official opening to try more of the menu. I highly recommend this Asian restaurant and will be...

I would like to tell you about our family dinner at KURO Sushi restaurant tonight. We walked in and two young ladies ask how many in our party. We had a reservation for 5 at 6:45 pm. They got the tables set up and had us seated within a couple of minutes. The server came over to explain the food on menu and made suggestions of what we might like to try. We had the most amazing fried rice, brussel sprouts, shrimp tempura, chicken and pork dumplings plus other fantastic entrees. Without a doubt this was some of the most amazing food prepared by Sushi Chef Daniel, Chef Kurt and Chef Brian. They have brought many of the entrees to a new level of culinary art. The food here is top-notch. What really shines is their robata—the grilled skewers are packed with flavor and perfectly cooked and amazing. The sushi and sashimi are super fresh too, and you can tell they use high-quality ingredients across the board. Service is friendly and attentive without being over the top. The staff is happy to walk you through the menu and always quick with recommendations or drink refills.
