Orlando’s Best Hidden Gems: Part 17 Happy Snapper Seafood Make sure to follow me for more of the best hidden gems in Orlando. Happy Snapper Seafood has got to be added to your list of must visits if you haven’t already been here. The night I was here there was a huge line for a pretty well known restaurant in the area and this restaurant was practically empty 🤔 There was a family but not heavy foot traffic. And listen the goal for me with every place that I share is some foot traffic in the places that DESERVE it. I cannot even put into words how insanely good this BLUE CRAB bisque is here and the clam chowder (I was feeling under the weather and this revived me) OR the dishes we had, mine and my boyfriend’s red snapper were both cooked beautifully and seasoned so incredibly well. I seriously love this place so much and I truly can’t wait for you to frequent it just as much as me. Have you been to this seafood spot in Orlando yet ? I recently visited Happy Snapper Seafood Restaurant with my kids after being enticed by the positive Google reviews and appealing photos. However, my overall experience fell short of expectations. I had high hopes for a fresh and enjoyable seafood meal, but unfortunately, there were a significant drawbacks. We decided to order a variety of dishes to share, including Calamari, Fish & Chips, and Blackened Salmon with Broccoli and corn on the cob. While the Fish & Chips and Calamari were satisfactory, the Blackened Salmon was a letdown. The salmon was overcooked, rendering some of the end portions too tough to eat or even cut. This was a huge disappointment, as we were looking forward to savoring tender and succulent salmon. Furthermore, the restaurant's ambiance could use improvement. It felt a bit dull and lacked the lively atmosphere that one would expect from a seafood establishment. To enhance the seafood vibe, it would be great if they brightened up the space and played Island or Caribbean music, adding a touch of vibrancy to the dining experience. On a positive note, the trivia loop playing on the TV screens provided some entertainment, and the Coleslaw served was quite good. However, considering the overall experience, the lackluster ambiance, coupled with the disappointment of the overcooked salmon, made me question the value for money, specially when I brought it up to the server. Who replied this happened recently to someone else and that was it. No let us make it up to you on your next visit or and real concern to address it so it doesn’t happen to someone else. In conclusion, my visit to Happy Snapper Seafood Restaurant did not live up to the positive reviews and enticing photos. While there were a few highlights, such as the Fish & Chips and Calamari, the overcooked salmon and lackluster ambiance overshadowed the positives. I believe there is room for improvement in terms of food quality, ambiance, and customer service.

I was looking for wild caught salmon as Bay Harbour didn't have it today. On Google maps I found the Happy Snapper, not too far from where I was. I tried to call them twice and let it ring more than 10 times. I didn't want to waste my time, but as I wasn't too far, I decide to try. Walked in and asked 'Do you have WILD CAUGHT SALMON?' The attendant said :'Yes we have SCOTISH SALMON ', I look at the fish and it was pink like farm raised salmon and I questioned the attendant. She didn't know the difference and had to call someone else to ask. The person on the phone confirmed that it was FARM RAISED SALMON. I told the attendant that it would be nice if they pick up the phone, as I drove for nothing and wasted my time. She proceed to argue with me that she wasn't there earlier, I told her I had just called maybe 15 minutes prior and she said that I might have dial wrong. I showed her the record of the 2 phone calls in my phone and proceed to leave the store. That's when she started to scream at me that ' I HAD TO LISTEN TO HER!', what I reply that I was a customer and I didn't have to listen to her, she should listen to me and try to improve her customer service skills to treat better her next customer so they won't be as dissatisfied as I am. Needless to say that I am never going back there, and you shouldn't either. She tried to sell me the wrong fish and the price of the farm raised salmon was $2.00 per pound more expensive than Bay Harbour. Be aware of Happy Snapper cheap prices....

Jose was awesome, friendly, and gave excellent suggestions. The blackened grouper was so fresh I couldn’t believe it’s quality and flavor. Amazing! No overpowering flavors, but just right. The grouper came with white rice and broccoli. Bathe white rice and brócoli were cooked perfectly. Fluffy rice, light natural flavor, and the broccoli was steamed just right, with a little bite to it. They weren’t seasoned much, but it honestly highlighted the grouper flavors and made for an all together healthy dish you absolutely would order again and feel healthy after eating. I was loving everything so much, that as I write this I ordered a shrimp quesadilla- one of Jose’s suggestions. Can’t wait for it to come out! (Update, it just came out and I cant tell you enough how perfect it was. The shrimp was so delicate and the cheese was rich and creamy. They serve it with peppers inside and something acidic to give it a pop and boy was it outstanding. Atmosphere, painting and decorating: the place is simple, lit mostly by the window light. It does need updated lighting. The can lights are a bit small and too dim even at midday it seems a little dark. The seating is a bit plain, they could use something a little more rustic looking that reminds tu of docks or something. But I didn’t want the score to be affected too much because atmosphere aside you need to visit asap.

I was passing through the state while traveling with my family. We were craving seafood and decided on Happy Snapper Seafood because it had great reviews and photos of the dishes. Wow, were we glad we ate here. The food was delectable - perfectly seasoned and cooked. We had the octopus salad, caesar salad, paella, and blackened steamed red snapper. The decor and furniture are modest. The food presentation isn't fine dining presentation, but the taste certainly is and with low to moderate cost for high quality delicious food. The chef is the only one cook in the kitchen, and he is expeditious. I'll come back to try all the dishes and am glad to pay the modest cost for fine dining taste. I have to mention that the service from the waiters was also attentive. I forgot to bring my phone in to take photos of the food. I only got a chance to take photos of the current menu after we finished eating.

I recently had the pleasure of trying the steamed red snapper with steamed vegetables, and it was an exceptional dish. The snapper was expertly prepared, with the delicate flavors enhanced by a perfectly light steaming process that retained the fish’s natural, mild sweetness. It was tender and moist, flaking easily with each bite, and had a subtle infusion of herbs that added a delightful aroma without overpowering the dish. This crab cake is a must-try for seafood lovers. Made with a generous amount of fresh crab meat, each bite was packed with tender, succulent seafood, with just the right amount of seasoning to enhance its natural sweetness. The exterior had a perfectly golden, crispy crust that contrasted beautifully with the soft, moist interior. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a well-executed classic!
