Hasta La Tambora — Restaurant in Florida

Hasta La Tambora is one of my favorite food trucks in Tampa! We tried some fire Dominican food like the crispy frituras (fried meats) and perfect platanos. I especially liked their empanadas. passionfruit drinks, as well as their chimi burger. The Matatan Patacon is a massive sandwich in between large plantains. So much flavor!!!

TO NOTE: A lot of ppl here are complaining about the ~2 hour waits as of recent weeks. For context, after this spot was highlighted on Instagram/Tiktok, a massive influx of customers came to try HLT. When this happens, the wait times increase, so please understand that many ppl want to try their amazing food! :)

Also! this is a shared food park with many other food trucks. Facilities, restrooms, and gathering spaces are not representative of just HLT itself. So have grace. This family works hard to serve up delicious food made with love for all...

I love this place! The yaroa fries are so good, I get them at least 1x/week. Everyone I introduce to this place loves the food regardless of what they order (fried chicken, chicharron, yucca, empanadas, morir soñando). I can not emphasize enough how great this food is to go because it stays good and warm and ready for you. My mom said the yucca fries were amazing and that was after about 1 hour in the car till we got home. The fresh juices are also really good, the lime and passion fruit are a must try! Additionally, the service is incredible, everyone is so kind and welcoming. You can trust them to give an honest Eta for your food which is something I really appreciate. I cant say enough great things the food and the staff, I hope the continue to thrive in...

Been sitting here for what is now over 2 hours after being told it would be one hour and this is absolutely the worst. Like there is no reason to take this long for food that is just fried. This place is trash..... update after 2.5 hours I got my food and it was absolutely not worth it. I absolutely would never recommend someone go unless you're going to get completely drunk while listening to music at the table to the point where you forget you ordered food and just be happy at the end of the night when you're drunk and they finally call you. also maybe they would actually get the food faster if they weren't being typical and drinking while cooking. I'm so disappointed...
