It is one of the better Caribbean restaurants in the area. But my last experience was not good. I ordered 2 plates, and my wife's order was very clear and specific. Dark meat only. Not one piece of dark meat chicken. I ordered jerk pork. I got chicken all white meat also. I did get the jerk sauce I said I didn't want. I called and got no answer, so I called another store asking for assistance. Employee give me a number to the store I can reach a manager. The employee answered and asked a few questions and then told me to hold. I stayed on hold for 25 minutes đ. The same employee answered again, asking what the reason I need a manager. Was very rude telling me I didn't buy their, I need call where I made my purchase. Finally got the young man I dealt with, and he remembered my order and apologized because he didn't double-check before he gave it to me. He said he could do a refund or credit. I told I'm I drove 40 minutes their and 40 back. I drove back another round trip 80 minutes. He apologizes again, but I'm out time and gas with no even as much as a lousy drink that can't even make up for my time and fuel. Most expensive meal Jerk Pork đ© ever. My wife settled and stated eating the meal, so I didn't try to...
Read moreDecided to try Jerk Hut since someone else mentioned it at another another Jamaican restaurant. Unfortunately I was underwhelmed. I order the 1/2 lb jerk pork, 1/4 jerk chicken, and side of mac for $18. The jerk pork and chicken came out hot and it was smoked which was good. However there wasnât much jerk seasoning on either one. Jerk should have some kick to it from the pepper, but there was none. More like jerk flavored pork and chicken, not seasoning. Also, the pork wasnât soft, still a little tough like it needed to be cooked a bit longer. The sauce they gave with the jerk was a sweet sauce that does not pair well with the jerk.
Mac and cheese was a definite miss. Had an after taste like it had been sitting in plastic or plastic wrap for a while. On top of that it was not hot, almost lukewarm.
Menu at this location is limited. Overall, I wouldnât recommend Jerk Hut to those looking for authentic Jerk. For those who donât like spice or canât do spicy foods, this jerk may be worth...
Read moreJust find somewhere else to eat and I will tell you why. Keep in mind I visited about 1pm on a Sunday. Some things are just too good to be true. I pulled up, there was no line no waiting, I read a sign that said extra gravy is free (nice gesture but you know most Jamaican restaurants want their $.50 for the extra gravy), and lastly the gentleman taking the order was too nice. LOL. I ordered a veggie plate, just peas and rice with oxtail gravy, plantain and cabbage. I figured lets start out simple. When I received the plate, it was piping hot. I mean it was so not that I couldnât even reinforce the plate underneath because it was piping hot. Then I started thinking, there is only one reason it would be that hot. SIMPLY BECAUSE IT WAS MICROWAVED. The cabbage was not fresh, tasted very reheated, and quite unseasoned. The peas and rice was OKAY. But nothing was FRESH! I KNOW FRESH FOOD, Save your time and money, burn a lil more gas and go somewhere else. Maybe another...
