Hello all: Our favorite place appears to be under new management - oh well; wish the old owners lots of love & good luck & the new ones – Welcome to hot & Sunny Florida.
The food tastes good with ample portions. No issues there - which is one of the reasons we & our friends keep coming back. Although the "fries"; keep trying please.
Anyways, my beloved & I & a few more of our friends were over at the House of Brews this weekend. Mind you, I am not a heavy drinker, so two drinks & I am good & ready to go home & can drive with no problem.
Well, my beloved drove me this time because I had a hard week & needed to pound a few back. Designated driver program here.
Anyways, after four (4) of my favorite drinks (mixed liquor) I couldn't even get a buzz.
What gives!!!!!! Like I said, I am a relative light drinker of mixed drinks but over the weekend at House of Brews I could NOT get a buzz to save my life. Mind you this drink of mine is a 3 liquor drink with some other fun lovin' juices.
The bartenders (I say that because two different ones made it for me that night). So, it was not say one of them was having a bad night; but two – come on!!
OMG! Talk about holding back the bottle. Come-ON!!!!
So, just to test out my theory, we went over to The Vine next door on Sunday - just to test it out, you see.
We ate a nice dinner with apps & after the 2nd drink there, I was feeling the buzz that I normally get from my favorite drink, you see.
It's really easy here - please give a customer what they are paying for.
And in case anyone may not believe me, one other customer at an adjacent table was heard commenting that he normally gets a good buzz going off of two L.I.T.’s which anyone who has had one knows its a 5-liquor drink. But that night he couldn’t feel it – so he exclaimed to the waitress. She was nice & bought him another drink.
All in all – to the new owners, please serve what your customers pay for and that's all we ask & we'll keep coming back. Otherwise, there are other places out there to...
Read moreI was really excited about trying this place out after the reviews. The burger quesadilla drew my attention. It was even further solidified when the bartender suggested it and another at the bar added a second.
I will preface that this review is on a holiday week (3 days before Christmas) and that it may be different than their normal operations.
Pros: I did see some things on the menu that were unique. I have never seen a restaurant with deviled eggs. So, that was cool to see. The people atthe bar seemed to be regulars. So, I assume that there is at least some level of regular service, at least with the drinks. The server was very nice.
Cons: The service was slow. I never recieved a refill on my water. The hamburger quesadilla is super greasy and was slipping apart and difficult to eat. Took me nearly 20 minutes to get my check and had to ask for it. (I actually never asked for it and just handed them my card.)
To be thorough, it looked as though a single person had to work the entire restaurant on their own. It is very unfortunate as I think with better service the experience would have been much more enjoyable.
I sit at the bar since I am on my own and, typically, it is a chance to get better service even if I am not drinking. That was not the...
Read moreHouse of Brews off Van Dyke is a local gem and one of my favorite go-to spots for great food, cold drinks, and a laid-back atmosphere. Whether you’re grabbing a bite after work, catching a game, or meeting up with friends, this place never disappoints.
I highly recommend the Buffalo Chicken Wrap—it’s seriously one of the best around. The chicken is perfectly crispy, tossed in just the right amount of buffalo sauce for that tangy heat, and wrapped with fresh lettuce, tomato, and ranch dressing. It’s flavorful, satisfying, and hits the spot every time. It’s served with a side of house-made chips that are crunchy, well-seasoned, and a great complement to the wrap.
The service is always friendly and efficient, and the staff makes you feel right at home. There’s a fantastic selection of beers on tap, with plenty of local and craft options to choose from. The vibe is relaxed, with TVs throughout so you can always catch the game.
If you’re in the area and looking for a casual spot with consistently great food and service, House of Brews on Van Dyke is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back for that wrap and...
