Definitely a little lack luster at this location. We stopped as we headed back from vacation. Not the most inviting and prominent entrance. As we waited to be seated we stood in the lobby of the hotel in which the restaurant is located. Not a big deal with the arrangement except it felt like a gas station with the, (I believe) Hindu statues, khyal/raga music, over stocked thrown together tourist buys, charging cords, snacks, knives, etc. So then we are seated and spend quite a bit of time looking over the menu before a server introduced themselves. It appeared as 4 servers in 4 sections which left them with around 6/7 table sections give or take. This made it a bit hard on the service team to get to and do return visits to check on their tables. When the server took our order I asked my usual of "what do you like"? And the response was "I usually don't eat here"! ?????? So any way we ordered our meals and waited for service during which time we had no refills on drinks. The kitchen did do well with times as the place was almost full and food hit the table in about 12-14 min. But there was a couple issues with the food. We had a hair in one plate, one egg order was over easy but the whites weren't even cooked, the fried steak and gravy was salty my travel soda didn't taste right all the way to GA, one stack of pancakes (the only flavored stack) was not cooked thru an oozing batter. And we didnt get refills or condiments which were asked for at the initial order nor get to ask someone again as everyone walked over auctioned the food off and did a quick 180 to do something else. When we finally got what I guess was a manager since they never identified themselves we were told that "that's the way they do there eggs", "the batter is okay that way", and "do you just want a pot of coffee if your gonna drink it like that? After we couldn't finish our meal the server asked if we wanted to go boxes with napkins and silverware already laying on top of the food. So all and all definitely not a...
Read moreWe gave our name to the waitress as there was no hostess handling the seating . We were in line for 40 minutes waiting to be seated, looking at empty tables. Not understanding why, customers began to complain, why we hadn't been seated and why no one had even acknowledged us standing there "ALL" that time. Those in front of us began to question employees if one if them walked by. And that's when half of the people in line walked out after hearing their response. One of the waitresses walked up., A gentleman asked her when we were going to be seated ...since there were like 10 tables empty..her reply, "We are short staffed and don't have enuff employees to handle the workload", as you can see, and pointed to the food area ..In which plates and plates of food were waiting to be served....there wasn't even a manager on Duty. It was ridiculous. After a group of people turned around and walked out , upset and hungry...they began to seat people slowly but surely . We sat down...finally ordered , got our food and The pancakes were great ...the rest of my order was not eaten. It was pretty bad . And we were never asked if everything was ok. This was my worst experience at an Ihop....I will never return, management and the owner need to do something with this place. Or shut it down. The hotel office that is connected looked terrible, it was nasty, ceiling tiles dirty and falling. Old and outdated ..that should have been a sign.it was utterly chaotic and ridiculous.. Im Surprised the employees did not walk out ..I...
Read moreThe positive: Previous visits were great and the waiters/waitresses know me as a sporadic regular. Joy and Chris are amazing and hardworking per usual. (The only reason for the 5 stars in service)
My complaint: the "manager" Sharon. I've noticed her nasty attitude towards customers previously such as one time were I witnessed her rolling her eyes and shaking her head at a customer that decided to seat himself after waiting for a while at the door without acknowledgment.
Today (10/21) Joy was amazing as usual. Told me it is nice to see me again. In the midst of getting the first part of the order, my toddler picked up 3 small cheap dollar tree (literally) Halloween decorations that were sat behind him. He was playing with them and didn't mean any harm to anyone. "Sharon comes to my table and rudely states "I need my decoration". As I am handing them back to her (both hands full) she states while pointing to the 3rd that was on the table in front of my son, "and that one too" as if I wasn't already handing them to her. It was very rude and nasty of her to treat an innocent child that way but her attitude matches her face... UGLY!!!!
I had my food packed up to go because my energy was so disturbed by the fact that she was so nasty.
To Sharon: It's not what you say its how you say it and if you don't work on that nasty attitude you are going to run into the wrong one, one of these days and i'm sure you know what that means. :) You're lucky I have way too much to lose. You don't appear to have much to lose so I get...
