This was an unexpected Pleasure!! As a sensory junkie, and retired international master chef, I recognize artistry when I experience it. The sushi master on Thursday, October 3rd dinner shift(if there are more than one) is an artist. The sashimi is so fresh and flavorful, you can tell it's been properly handled. The cuts are perfect, eating was a tender delicate experience as it should be. I love the real pickled ginger, no artificially colored "pink". ❤ The wasabi had the sweet fruitiness it should, not the harsh powder wasabi mixed wrong at most other places. I'm excited to try some of the House rolls... I love the creativity in the menu for them.
We also tried their edamame (perfect, not overcooked), crab rangoon (generously filled with delicious crab you can tell is in there, and a nice sweet sauce, like sweet thai chili), Japanese spring rolls (thin and crispy fried wrap with a tasty filling, not typical cabbage only filling), and the chicken and shrimp hibachi meal (delicious, perfectly prepared, fresh...very nice veggies, with zucchini, mushrooms, onions, and many others). Must MUST try their fried rice...my partner ordered more to take home, it was so good.
After a stressful six months, this cozy clean little spot brought tears of pleasure to my eyes. Thank you.
The service was so friendly and efficient. Our server was patient with my questions, a manager (I believe she was a manager) came by to make sure we were happy, and the hospitality was genuinely generous of heart.
I WILL be back.
Even the clean simple plating was a visual delight. It brought this sensory junkie into...
Read moreIf you are looking for a place where they cook on a Hibachi at your table or even in view, this place is not what you are looking for.
I didn't try the sushi so I can't speak to it.
Service was slow, we didn't get silverware/chopsticks with our soup/salad and took a while to get the waitress' attention to get a fork to eat the salad.
The floor under the table had rice and other food spilled everywhere, I didn't notice until just before we were served.
I ordered steak and lobster hibachi and the lobster was overcooked and so was the medium steak. Everything was covered in teriyaki sauce, so any possible flavor was masked. Food was edible, not great, even though the price would have been reasonable for a Hibachi restaurant.
I don't know where the 5 stars are coming from. Different location, clueless patrons, not sure. I doubt we'll go back to try the sushi.
I've had better food at Panda Express. Yes I know that's not Japanese food, but neither was this.
The lobster tails I picked up at Publix yesterday were 10 times better, I cooked them myself in the air fryer.
Teriyaki chicken was kinda meh as well.
Best part of the meal was the salad...
Read moreFirst time trying this place and based on the reviews, I figured it would be pretty great. Ordered a poke bowl for the first time and was expecting chunks of fresh salmon and tuna plated beautifully. Now, I did order to-go on Bite Squad so the plated part I was already expecting. What I was not expecting was grinded up raw fish thrown into a to-go box on top of warm rice. It was still slightly good tasting (from what I attempted to eat) since it’s still salmon and tuna, but the texture alone was unappetizing.
I also order a spicy salmon roll. Same thing. Grinded up fish rolled in rice.
Normally, I go to one sushi spot only but it’s no longer on bite squad so I tried something new. In my experience, cheaper places grind up all of their fish for smaller menu items and unfortunately, this was not cheap so I was NOT expecting this.
If you’re looking for Poke with fresh chunks of fish scattered on fresh rice with fresh veggies......
