Dined there for the first time.
The table ordered: Garlic cheese bread Two slices of cheese pizza Two diet cokes Greek Salad with grilled chicken
The guy who greeted us was friendly and very personable. Let us know we didn't need to wear masks inside, though we always wear them anyway to be considerate.
The diet cokes were large and the machine was calibrated well. No issues there.
The garlic cheese bread was pretty good. Crispy bottom crust, a bit of browning on the cheese and not too greasy. Really can't go wrong ordering that.
The two cheese slices were ordered pretty close to closing and thus weren't the freshest. Earlier in the day they probably would've been better, but close to closing time they were dry and the cheese was very rubbery. Ordering slices of pizza within an hour of a restaurant shutting down for the night was our own folly.
The Greek salad with grilled chicken was okay. The menu said it was a mix of iceberg lettuce and romaine, but I don't think there was any romaine in it. That said, the vegetables were fresh and crisp, the feta cheese was plentiful, and the portion of chicken was generous. It came with an oil & vinegar dressing mixed with herbs, which wasn't bad, but the dressing would've benefitted from an emulsifier to help it coat the vegetables.
So, why only two stars? Well, there was a young roach in the salad. It wasn't noticed right away, but eventually we saw it crawling around a piece of lettuce and that was the end of that. Our server comped the salad and made it right in the end, but there's no way to salvage a meal once roaches are involved.
If not for the roach, the visit would've been four stars assuming the rubbery cheese on the slices had more to do with the time of day than the quality of...
Read moreWell, let me tell you we will never step foot into Johnny Brusco's Pizza In Trinity Florida Ever, Ever, Ever again.. or any franchise of theirs.. I ordered a pepperoni pizza, I took 2 bites and I found they use the Chunky sauce.. I could not eat anymore.. it was not to my liking.. The waitress came by, she asked how I liked the pizza, I told her I didn't . I told her I was not a tomato person, but sometimes I order one, and if the sauce isn't chunky or to tomato tasting I can deal with it, however theirs was not to my liking..she said she was sorry.. asked if I wanted anything else, I declined. She brought the check with a 6.25 discount..when she came back , I told her as much as I appreciated the discount, I would like to talk with the manager..she informed me they had already told her they wouldn't speak with me and that was all she could do.. and also I did order the pizza.. and members of the staff in the back saw us several times in there before, and that I always requested a discount. Now I was very upset.. told her that tonight was the only night we had ever been there, we lived 2 hours away, and we were here for a family funeral and we just wanted a bite to eat.. she again insisted that we had been there before, and the manager had left... I told her I wanted his name and I would report them to bbb....she kept asking why I would do that..i told her for how they were treating us, thats why... as we walked out the staff was laughing.. she did not earn her tip at that point!! I will find out who owns the company and the managers names I...
Read moreDisappointing. Waitress wasn't very personable. I felt like I was a bother. Kids ordered 8" pizzas which they seemed to like. Wife ordered baked ziti. Sorry, not baked at all. It looked more like a plate of ziti covered in meat sauce and sprinkled with parmesan. That's not baked ziti. I ordered a calzone, allegedly with mozzarella and ricotta, among other ingredients. Plenty of peppers & onions. A little pepperoni and sausage. Cheese? Hardly any. The icing on the cake... it's 7:35 and they close at 8:00. We wanted to order a sandwich to go for our daughter. Club Sub... ham, turkey & bacon... sorry, they shut down the kitchen. SERIOUSLY? What, exactly, was shut down? They couldn't throw together a sandwich? Even if they couldn't put bacon on it, because they had to cook it fresh, which I seriously doubt, they could have suggested the modification. Nope. No can do. I guess that's what you get when you have a group of apparently untrained teens working the kitchen and waiting tables. I know places are having a hard time getting people to fill jobs, but that doesn't mean you compromise your business by letting laziness and indifference take over. Although someone that I took as a manager or something had come by a few minutes earlier and when we asked about ordering something to go she just barked back that we'd better hurry up because they'll be shutting down the kitchen soon. I guess she's in charge of training. Really, really, really...
