Don't live in the area but was down for a fun event and wanted breakfast. So checked Google maps and started paying attention to the ratings of the breakfast restaurants in the area.
JT's had the almost unheard of rating of 4.7 out of five!!! I give the restaurant, a 5 out of 5 because it was that good!
So I drove a little farther to eat there!
Extremely extremely good service and so friendly! Delicious food! I had the grits bowl with eggs and bacon, a first for me anywhere and it was divine! Divine would also accurately describe the blueberry muffin that was huge and perfect! The owners are Hands-On and also incredibly wonderful and friendly! Atmosphere is good also and there are lots of wonderful and often antique wall hangings! The clientele are also friendly and nice! Restaurant is super clean, including the bathrooms, which to me is super important! Prices are reasonable and they have specials regularly as well! Just like the name hints, they are in a little corner of a small plaza along US1. Easy to miss, if not using Google Maps. Thankfully Google Maps took me right to the door of the restaurant!
The owner's son was there and he's a great little kid. An artist friend of mine made a 3D printed General Patton octopus and it's been riding around on my dashboard for a while now. When I saw this little kid immediately got the subliminal message that General Patton octopus needed to go live with this young man lol š
There was an exactly matching real war helmet in the restaurant (as the owner is a veteran)! So that was a lot of fun and the little guy was gracious and grateful!
100% awesome experience!!! Definitely going there next time I'm down...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife and I have been looking for a decent local place to eat with good food and reasonable prices for years. Our task was not easy. Zero Beach has a lot of eating establishments, but few we would recommend. Finally we happened upon JDās Corner Diner before we slit our wrists! Itās easy to overlook. Itās stuck (as the name implies) in the northeast corner of Roseland Plaza. Actually, we found it while looking for another business.
JDās is open for breakfast and lunch, opening at 7:00 AM , closing at 3:00 PM, and closed all day on Wednesday.
We have been there twice: both times for breakfast although the last time we got there close to closing time. Thankfully, breakfast is served all day. I had the buttermilk pancakes, crispy bacon and home fries (grits were not available at closing time); all of which tasted Heavenly! My wife had the taco salad and pronounced it outstanding!
The entire restaurant is unbelievably clean, quite a pleasant surprise, given the typical ZB restaurants most of which have grown complacent and not as clean as they should be. The waitress, Trish, was very friendly and accommodating. She had eaten many of the dishes and, thus was able to give us some ideas about what to order. We also met George, the owner and chef (he described himself as a cook, but the quality of the food he serves elevates his status).
In short, try this place. The variety of the items offered in the menu and the quality of the food weāve eaten there indicate you will not be disappointed! We canāt wait to see what lies ahead when we return to try...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf there was a way to put a zero rating, it would be today. My husband and I went there for breakfast, (we have been there many times before)the waitress comes out with my food, tells my husband his will be right out. Big no-no, anyway, at least 10 minutes goes by and he still doesn't have his food. Waitress is refusing to even acknowledge us. Finally, his food comes out. Ice cold. My husband is not one to co.plain, but I said no way, we call the cashier over to ask her to microwave his food, as it is ice cold. She takes it to the back, then tell the waitress what is going on. The waitress( red hair, short, with the constant fake smile) nods and continues to take care of everyone else. After 5 minutes more of this ridiculous behavior, we say that's it, let's leave. As we stand up, once again it's the cashier who ask us what the problem is. I am furious and explain it to her where the waitress can here is. She just keep acting like she doesn't know we exist. We will never, ever eat there again. We are definitely not confrontational people, usually being the ones that get the bad end, but this was unbelievable. I would never recommend this place to anyone after this. This waitress should have never brought out one person's food, secondly, dont ignore a bad situation. Go over and talk to your customers, you work for them....
