Went on a Sunday morning around 830 and asked if the pastelitos were fresh, the person at the counter told me absolutely we make them fresh daily and who in Miami would sell old pastries - yes, some places do. Anyway, I went ahead and made purchase of several pastries. Get home and tried all, they were lightly toasted around from being in the heated display for a while, they were stale, and the flavor was not fresh. Definitely not a fresh product. 1/2 hour later I stopped by and spoke to the guy who had said the pastries were fresh and complained to him. At 830 on Sunday AM this place is empty, at 9am when I went back it was empty again and Islas Canarias Accross the street you can’t find parking of how packed it is. Karla has lost quality and freshness and it is evident by other reviews on here as well as the lack of customers. People have a bad experience and they simply don’t return and that’s what I told the guy at the desk which identified himself as the manager. So, I do not recommend this place if you want fresh pastries… better to make the line elsewhere, it’s obvious why good places have a line and you need to wait....

A few moments later, a woman came out, but she looked annoyed from the moment she saw us. I didn’t say anything and just kept quiet, but when she finally came to take our order, she said with attitude, “Now it’s 6 a.m.” I checked my phone it was 6:02 a.m.
It was clear she was upset that we came in a minute or two early, even though we were let in and welcomed without any issue. The whole thing felt uncomfortable, like we were being treated as a problem just for showing up at the posted opening time.
So we left and took our business elsewhere. No one likes to feel unwelcome, especially over...
Read moreFirst time ever going into a Karlas Bakery and I am very disappointed. First there's a long line which I don't understand why because all of their pastries look like if they've been there forever. There's only two people working. One on the register and one in the kitchen. Very slow. I ordered a breakfast and the eggs had no taste, the fries were very soggy, the Cuban bread was stale, the croqueta I ordered was old and the pan de bono was very old, cold and stale. It tasted like cardboard. What a waste of time, money and calories. I would never come back here. I suggest you go to...
