I don't think I will EVER return to this location again. I've been on numerous occasions and while the staff is seemingly friendly, the wait time is obnoxiously long. I usually spend about 45 minutes waiting for ONE smoothie and a sandwich. Which isn't even why I'm so upset. My last visit there really upset me.
I put in an online order around 11 am. I arrive at the restaurant at 1230PM. The first thing I do is check the online order shelf they have to see if my order had been fulfilled. It had not. Now, I'm not the best at math but that's a good hour and a half. HOUR AND A HALF. How is my order NOT ready after an HOUR AND A HALF? Regardless, I stay cool and assumed that my order is either in the back waiting or perhaps, they were so busy they couldn't get to it just yet. I was willing to wait. So, I head to the counter and wait for someone to greet me. No one does. I call out. Everyone ignores me. There are THREE staff members working. Perhaps, they don't hear me but they do clearly SEE ME waiting at the counter because I've made eye contact with at least two of them.
Finally, I figure that they're just so busy and when they get a chance, they'll come and see me. Another woman walks in. She waits at the counter for all five minutes and is greeted and has her order in her hand, ready to go. I begin to make my way back up to the counter to see about my order when a large group of people enter and they are taken care of first. I admit, I should have spoken again or said something, but at that point, I was just so frustrated, I ended up leaving the restaurant.
First off: Why isn't my order ready and at the online pick-up shelf after a whole HOUR AND A HALF!?
Secondly: I don't know what kind of restaurant hasn't trained their workers to greet customers when they enter but clearly, tropical smoothie cafe didn't.
Thirdly: I can look past not being greeted or welcomed when first entering if, at the very least, they could have ACKNOWLEDGED me when I was standing at the counter.
Anyway, while I would usually sing this restaurant's praises (because my only issue with it was the wait time), I will no longer be wasting any of my money here.
Don't bother telling me to go to the website either to fill out a formal complaint. They don't read those and even acknowledge them so I guess I should have expected the same kind of treatment when I went to pick...
Read moreI have been a customer of Tropical smoothie for years, I moved to Ocala 2 years ago and I was very sad that there was no tropical smoothies around here; when I heard they were opining one at the villages I was very exited. I was in the area today and stopped by and I had the worst experience, while the cashier was really nice and helpful the manger was horrible. I did not like the smoothie I got, it was watery and had no flavor at all, so nicely I asked if it could be changed and the cashier offered to change but the manager had a very bad attitude, when I l explained it was watery and that o order smoothies from other tropical smoothies locations her answer was “ well we all use the same ingredientes and smoothies taste the same” I explained again that I could even taste the ginger on my smoothie and she was like ok ok I will make another one. While she left w attitude and her body language was very clear she was upset I was talking to the cashier and gave her the smoothie back , she reply I can’t take it back because you already try it so I put it back in my cup holder. Then the manger cane to the window w the new smoothie and gave it to me w attitude and she then said ohh and I need you to give me that one back... I was like yea sure, I am not trying to take two smoothies for the price of one. Then she took the smoothie in a rude way and left me talking by my self, then I asked her name and she said Sara, my name is Sara, I told her Sara that is opt the way to act or treat your customers then she said, what I am doing? Tell me what I am doing?, how I am beeing rude? And I answered your attitude and body language says it all. I told her I am going to report this situation and she reply saying call corporate call them I will call them too. Rule #1 customer is always right unless customer is being disrespectful or insulting. #2 customer service is top at a restaurant specially at the villages ok. #3 YOU DO NOT ARGUE W A CUSTOMER. You apologize, you offer to help, you resolve the problem and make your customer happy. Simple customer service rules. If you don’t have the skill to work w customers or public then you need to find another job. Thank you Sara for putting a lot of ginger on the remake smoothie that’s exactly what I meant. I...
Read moreNever had a bad experience prior throughout any other franchise until I placed an order at this location. The franchise is run by children who believe they are above everyone. They were very ignorant upon going through the drive-through to pick up my order, not answering the intercom, and once I approached the window, informing me that, regardless of the order being placed and paid for in advance that they would not serve me, instead, wanted me to come inside to pick up the order. I informed them that I would not be able to do that and would instead need to cancel the order if I couldn't get it through the window because I had an infant in the back and a disability that would've disabled me from bringing my son inside, holding him and the food. I then had to cancel the order and call customer service where they had informed me that they would be able to do nothing, but notify the store manager, who had called me and told me , he would give me vouchers in regards to the inconvenience that I had caused to me. The entire situation left such a bad taste in my mouth for this franchise. I will definitely not return and would not recommend for any of my friends or family when they come to visit...
