I had to chew on whether I wanted to write a review on this. There are so many pizza places in The Villages I could have just not returned and went my merry way. We tried NYPD Pizza based on an offer my husband saw on the internet, plus it was new to us as we had never been. The offer was buy a specialty pizza on Tuesday, get a cheese pizza free. When we arrived didn't notice this to be an offer on their specialty board so we asked the waitress if there were any specials tonight. She only offered the Fireman's deal but, "that's not really a special as it's on the menu daily." So we ordered a Medium meat lovers and an antipasto salad. My husband thought he had simply looked at the wrong business. He did look up the internet offer however and indeed it was the correct business so we asked again. Our waitress said, "Oh yeah but you have to buy a LARGE pizza and you get a 14" cheese pizza." Well, we could have done that but since we didn't know AND it doesn't stipulate in the ad what size pizza you have to purchase (plus our order was already placed) too little too late. Several things went wrong during this visit, there was an error in the drink order and we were overcharged (that's another story), the pizza came out to the table, on the table without a pizza stand with no plates so we had to wait to catch her eye for plates ( this took quite a bit of time). The service was slow, but we have to give them grace on that because there were only 2 waitresses and the place was busy ( we know it's a thing now and they did "show up"). Bottom line, the food was marginal. We've had much better pizza elsewhere the lettuce in the salad was not well chopped and sandy ( a little worried it wasn't washed properly) though, the cheese and meat were nicely portioned. My biggest complaint, we had to take our pizza home. Our waitress was kind enough to box our medium pizza into a small box, which meant it was stacked pizza on pizza. The problem, she did this with her acrylic nailed fingers that had been picking up dirty dishes, swiping other peoples credit cards etc. I can't take that visual back. This review is not going to hurt their business. Obviously they are doing well as they were busy. I just had to get it off my chest as I can't get over my food being touched with dirty hands ( I know it happens but this was in front of my eyes and the sour cherry on top of the entire visit). There were too many mistakes, the food was edible but meh, so yes, I won't be returning. As I mentioned, there's just too many other pizzeria's in the area that make a better pie, for a little less cash and are much more attentive to their customers. So, off my chest, and...
Read moreThe customer service in this place has went downhill the last month or so. I come in almost weekly for to go orders and the last couple of times have been uncomfortable. The pizza maker in there is atrocious. A couple of weeks ago I was in and when I asked about price changes he replied "you all have money out here so prices dont matter". Way to assume that we are all living the high life out here, some of us work pay check to paycheck and some of your customers do not reside in the Villages at all. I was in twice this weekend to pick up food for my neighbors who are sick, the first time the same guy was complaining about hating his job.... it shows severely in his poor attitude. The second time I ran into him going to the bathroom and he smelled like alchohol. I asked where the owner was and I was told that he was hardly there. I applaud an owner for being able to have a business and trust your employees enough to only have to check in on them, but unfortunately employees like this will bring your business into the ground. One of your servers was telling this man that the customer at a table said the pizza had too much sauce, his reply was "pizza has sauce tell them to shut up and eat it". The girl looked horrified. I understand I dont know the full story on every day ins and outs of this business but as an outsider looking in, and as a paying customer, we see things you may not and we overhear things you may not. I also expect to be treated with respect when I ask simple questions, not barked at, or put down. If this is the type of people that you are going to have working for you, I am sorry to say, its going to bring you down. We all know restaurants are a customer service industry and this man does not need to work around people. I do love this establishment, I have been coming here for years but I will not return to a place that allows this type of person to talk to me like that. Hopefully in the future I will have better luck and from now on I will stick to talking solely to the servers as every one of them that you have in there are truly sweet girls. Thank you...
Read moreLet me tell you the Truth about this âNew York style pizzaâ they claim their sauce is made in house yet sauce has no flavor, they use a blend with provolone and not 100% mozz. $29 for a large pie and youâre giving me a blend? Also, 2 out of the 3 of my toppings were incorrect, and the sausage they have had no flavor. This pizza was bland and sad. I am from the Philadelphia area and come from Italian and Irish roots- I grew up eating good pizza and this place would not even be in business up North in Philly OR New York. I called back and nicely told them the issues I experienced and all I got was a sorry and if I came back they would give me a âdiscountâ⊠does this place have any Italian blood in it? Probably not! In Philadelphia they would have you instantly come back and give you a free pie because they want to keep business with you. These folks that say they have good pizza in the comment section plainly donât know pizza. Not here to complain although it is an absolute disgrace to the pizza of New York City. Now I am back on the search to find a decent slice here in Floridađđ€Š I really could have gotten Pizza Hut and it would have had more flavor. Cmon guys, do better! $29! Edit: the Owner claims itâs 100% mozzarella? Yet there is no stretch whatsoever and the lady that answered me on the on the Phone admitted to be it was a blend and apologized to me! Donât be lying now! Donât be flustered cause I called out the truth on your half provolone pizzasđ plus your topping are $2.50 a piece, so 3 topping would come out to $7.50 not $12. Go in...
